Yes, many know but can't help themselves as their living depend on the take home salary.
And if you remember how tough it is to secure a job, you'll just have to endure and do away with self dignity.

Employers pay you as a employee to do a job

Do that job and go home
With disrespect and shouting, even in your pure water business undecided

I know an employer, who doesn't believe in using his employees as a slave.
"They work for you to earn a living…" he'll say… "They deserve their respect their own way. The world revolves and times change. They can be in my place in the future while I come to theirs."

All the people you meet going up, you may meet them again on your way down. So, know how you treat people. Create an atmosphere you'd love to be in for others as well. smiley

That's why he always tell his employees ways of investing part of their salaries so as to have a passive income even while working for him, "Because you see this job, it won't be yours forever. So make hay while there is sunshine."

And he's happy he made a family out of his employees. smiley

And you dare not tell him you have no suggestion(s) or idea(s). Even if it doesn't make sense, just say something and we'll look into it.
In Nigeria here or abroad?

Some companies in Nigeria, if someone earns just 50k more than you, they can send you to buy them lunch every afternoon. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Flee from Chinese, Indian and Arab companies. SEEPCO/Sterling an Indian oil company is the worst oil exploration company in Nigeria today.

It’s unfortunate how there is so much taking advantage of each other. All through my working life I got paid at about the 26th of the month or every 4 weeks so when I was in a position to pay others I campaigned for this to the extent that I resigned within a month of being made secretary of the CDA cos the chairman was nonchalant about salary payment and knowingly entered into a contract he had no intention of honouring.

On the other hand I got to know that security were leaving the post after 12 midnight to 5am when they were contracted to work a 24 hour shift and so many other infractions. They generally want the money but not the work. Nobody will touch the building materials left in the street and you employ security and they take without asking the owner building materials that does not belong to them.

So who is to blame.

How about employers that default on salary payments, pension contributions and basically feel they are doing employees a favour by hiring them?

I've employed atleast 20 workers offline in the past twelve calenders months and 100 online for my digital business. My dear, current Nigerian employees are devils

Exactly. At my place of work, there are wicked heads and line managers. If you work in a private school, They’ll give you their work to do and when you refuse, they begin to taint your image. Fight you physically sef. Tell lies against you. They want you to neglect your family and work even after work hours. Have no other life but your work. Too bad…

It is what happens in Lawless entities like Nigeria!

If there were laws put in place to protect the rights of workers whether in private or public sectors, such would never happen!

These are things I expect the legislators to look into instead of rubber-stamping every useless bill from the Presidency!

You look like an example of what the OP is saying.

The OP is talking about employers and senior colleagues who request things that are out of job description from their employees and reports. But you turned it around on the employee's head.

People like you don't believe employees have rights. You believe you're doing them a favour by hiring them. Well, this kind of mentality only thrives where your jobs require little or no specialized skills. Employers who have tried this nonsense with specialists know how much it has affected their company. In many cases, such companies DIE.

When talent resigns from your company and you spend up to six months searching and sacking before finding a good replace, body go tell you.

My dear leave that young man. Because people have the grace to start up business they now assume that they are demi gods. As a manager, I treat my staff with Love and respect because I value their output on a daily basis. Though that does not mean i tolerate any kind of breach in company policy.

EDIT

I see a lot of comments talking about how (Nigerian) employees like to complain and how employees should either endure the dehumanisation at their work place or resign.

Obviously, many of you have a slavery mentality. When you're poor, you practice self-deprecation in the hopes of getting rich someday so that you can also enslave others as you've been enslaved when you're poor.

This is a jungle mindset. A mindset of the stronger takes all. No sense of justice, equity, humanity in you. Watch NatGeo Wild and come and tell me the difference between you and the animals you see there.

Granted. But I specifically asked about employers who don't pay on time. Make unexplained deductions. Don't remit pension contributions. Are these employers saints? And mind you, there's an abundance of such emoloyers
