I was refused a visiting visa to the UK around March this year. Reasons being:
“I am not satisfied that your personal bank statement reflects your business or employment.
 In addition to this, I note that there is no demonstration of any tax returns being paid, given you are self-employed. This leads me to doubt your credibility and your intentions on visiting the UK. Therefore, on the balance of probabilities, I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a limited period not exceeding 6 months or that you intend to leave the United Kingdom at the end of the visit.
 In light of all of the above, I am not satisfied that you intend to leave the United Kingdom or that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor. Your application is therefore refused under paragraph V4. 2 (a) and (c).”
My question now is, will this affect my chances of getting CAS and subsequently a study Visa? I read somewhere that I cannot apply for another visa until 6months after a previous visa request was refused. Is this true?

My wife (the MA) and I (dependent) applied for our visa on the 9th of June. We applied together and our pof was in my wife’s account. We went for our biometrics on the 20th of June and my wife got a collection mail on the 23rd of June, I did not get any mail since then until today when I got a mail stating that I should provide a bank statement in my name confirming the required level of funds that have been held for a 28 day period.


To be honest I am confused because they have already given my wife her visa and the funds are in her own account.

Please how am I supposed to respond to the mail that was sent as I have to give a response within 10 working days.

Please help guys

I got an advise from someone that what ever document my wife will be using should carry the same address as mine….


Therefore my spouse and I , did our TB test on the 11th of May claiming my home address for both of us.

On the 8th of June, we did our wedding but different address was written on our marriage certificate

I and my dependent have not been living together as at the time we went for our TB and we used my address for both of us.

but we got married in june with different addresses on our marriage certificate.

Please do I need to go and correct the wedding certificate to the same address or I should leave it the way it is?

Your opinion will highly be appreciated.

Please I received a collection mail from TLS on the 10th, but didn't get any BRP mail since then till now. I went to collect my passport yesterday with my visa on it but no BRP letter. Should I be worried? How best can I handle this?

Note: Both M.A and Dependent have Different SOA in their respective names. They both applying separately because of different SOA maturity date.

If M.A applied 14days before Dependent with her own separate SOA in her name. Does Dependent need to upload M.A SOA alongside Dependent SOA when applying on the 14th day?

Please, I have my biometric appointment tomorrow, and had uploaded all my documents via self-service.

However, I only noticed yesterday (after my wife had gotten her TB test certificate), that my own TB test certificate had not been stamped. And I have already uploaded my documents (along with my TB test certificate) on the TLS site. I had to run down to the IOM Center to get them to stamp my certificate today.

Please, is there a way I can replace that upload at the TLS center tomorrow before my biometrics? Please, help!!!

Yes, if you're applying at different times, you will need to submit MA'S statement of account along side the dependents, this is to avoid NSF for recycled funds.

is the answer Yes/No

Is the question only talking about the application presently filling or the whole application plus dependent.
My partner is using her our account as POF for herself and a Kid While I the MA is using my own account as POF

FOR DEPENDANTS: Your family should ideally be in the UK as your dependant under the Student visa for them to qualify as your dependants under the Graduate visa route. This means that they must apply to join you more than 6 months to the end of your course since IHS isn’t charged and BRPs are not issued for any visa below 6 months. If your dependants apply when you have less than 6 months to the end of your course, it means that they won’t be charged IHS and if they need medical attention, they might need to pay out of pocket. Also, proving their right to work might be difficult with this – anyone who has applied less than 6 months to the end of the main applicant’s visa should please state their experience for others to gain from.

1. Visa fee - £490
2. IHS fee - use the calculator and input your start and end date, it should be around £705
3. Maintenance funds- £680*9 =£6120

Your looking at approximately £7315
