And my pay is a lit more than hers.... Wen we got our appointment... We were confused as to why we were both graduates... But I was grade two and she grade one... And my pay a lil bit higher... Den a senior staff asked if she did exemption and she affirmed... He said that was why...it affected her..

I would have gotten a jo with Dana. A family friend of my mum worked it for me.

But without my certificate, they wouldn't employ me.

What will make you not to go for your NYSC, if you're still within the age limit? Without your NYSC certificate you're not a graduate. So if you're not going for NYSC collect exemption letter it's the same as NYSC certificate but you will not be given if you're below thirty years as at when your school result came out.

Without NYSC you are not a graduate? Is NYSC part of the courses you offered in school?

After collecting your school certificate, you are a graduate joor.

I learnt an important lesson from Ex-Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun.

Just do the damn thing so that it doesn't come to haunt you later in life. There's a matter on ground about a certain sitting Governor forging NYSÇ certificate.

Prevention is better than cure.

For any government job or political post, it is a must.


What about those that have zero interest in politics.

People have been dismissed from organisations, both public and private for not doing NYSC and forging their certificates, just like the case of Kemi, former Minister of Finance.

Better open your own business if you don't care about NYSC. Any attempt to avoid it can have terrible consequences in future.

Can you give examples of private organizations that dismissed someone because of NYSC certificate

The school is Rivers State University of Technology. It's not a weekend program, but an evening program that runs from Mondays to Friday's, 4pm - 6 or 7 pm, and at times over the weekend too. A course that runs for 4 years for full-time students, is 5 years for part-time students, and a 5 years program for regular students is 6 years for part-timers. Except for Law and Medical courses. I don't know if they have removed more programs from part-time studies now.

No jamp. Buy the form, fill and submit it with all your original credentials at the school CCE and when names are shortlisted, you pay for fees and start lectures on campus. Yes, the fees are quite high

If you graduated before 30 then you are expected to go for service. What determines wether you get the NYSC or the exemption certificate is your age of graduation.

Since the person will be graduating at 27 years of age, he or she is mandated to go for NYSC and get the certificate. They can only be exempted and given an exemption certificate from NYSC if they graduated above 30 years of age.

Exemption is for those that graduate when they are above 30 years
Exclusion is for those that do part-time/online program.
Please what certificate will such person who shun NYSC mandatory service or abscond collect?
Though I have the school of thought that say NYSC certificate should not be a requirements to get a job.
But It is better to do it than regret later. Kemi Adeosun is a case study.

Nysc is a waste of time..many of them become poorer during that one year especially ppl without a business...skill or from a rich background. Would you really say davido did nysc..I don't think so..guess he just showed up for orientation not even sure if he stayed the full 3weeks..after that I don't think he did anything more just showed up to collect certificate....na poor ppl dey suffer for nysc.

MOST COMPANIES DON'T EVEN VERIFY CERTIFICATIONS AT ALL

See as an HR officer one thing i've seen so far in my over 4 years is that no GOVERNMENT official will come to verify your certificate unless your school requested for performance review and that will be done through the YOU there former student.
And if you wish to know my company we house over 1,500 staffs including expartrates
