The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has cautioned the factional leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa, against plans to stage a sit-at-home protest in Lagos State.

Reports had quoted Ekpa as hinting in a tweet on Wednesday of plans by IPOB to replicate the protest in Lagos.

However, Aare Gani Adams in an interview with The Tribune said such an attempt will not be condoled noting that the South West region is not Biafra Republic.

He also cautioned the Finland-based IPOB leader to desist from repeating the mistake that led to the Civil War and drop the move which he described as counterproductive.

He said: “I can’t go to the South East now and say I want to decide for the people of that region. So, it is not possible to import the South-East agenda into Yorubaland. It would be counterproductive. We advise him (Ekpa) to drop that idea.

“He should not try that. The South West is not Biafra Republic. Any attempt to impose the Biafra Republic agenda will be resisted. He should desist from repeating the mistake of the 1970s. He should be very, very careful.

“They are entitled to their opinion, but South West is not their Biafran region. He should be very, very careful.

“He should not come and impose his agenda on the South West. It is uncalled for, it is unwarranted. Although I don’t know him and I have not spoken to him, he should not bring unnecessary tension to Yorubaland. We will not accept that.”

Ibos living in Lagos should please obey Simon Ekpa. Infact they should bring UGM too.

Nevertheless, he didn't say anything concerning the Issere festival being cancelled at Ilorin. I expected him to say something about it as a traditional title holder he is. Apart from Professor Wole Soyinka, no other notable Yoruba personality has gotten the balls to criticize the Emir of Ilorin.

Why is that?

Ilorin is not part of the SW region. Illorin is an emirate.

There's nothing APC loves more than dividing this country for their own personal gain. Nigerians don't understand that the APC are the kings of propaganda! Nobody has ever said anything about a sit at home protest in anywhere outside SE, but this news was brought here to further widen the crack in nigerias democracy.

Quite expected.
It makes no sense for someone in Finland to give directive that can paralyze the economic activities in Nigeria.

Sooner or later, the effects of the sit at home menace will be experienced nationwide if not curbed in time.

This is disappointing that an Elder like Gani will be seeking popularity with a fool like Simon Ekpa!

They can't even carry out Sit-At-Home Protest in Igbo-speaking parts of Delta, Rivers, Akwa-Ibom, or anywhere beyond the landlocked Southeast!

The protest is not even effective or meaningful in the Southeast for starters!

He is a terrorist as long as the South East is concerned.
In the beginning of all these he rode on the sentiments of the South Eastern people agitation for seclusion. But has steered off the path and became a terrorist.
People in the South East are not sitting at home because they align with his thoughts but because he has employed hoodlums from all over the country to kill, terrorize and enforce his agenda.

I dont know why Gani or whatever his name is, is making it an Igbo affair, he should stop being tribalistic and channel his vulgarism to the fugitive Ekpe, his cohorts and sponsors.
