Peter obi will not sell fuel.at 600 but approve 70bn to renovate NASS, release 35bn to legislators as palliative and discharge 40 bn to buy cars for lawmakers all withing 49 days.

Stop being very stupid. It is not helping u.
He is not likely to remove subsidy without thinking or planning, he did not give time frame to remove it despite promising its removal, its possible he did it in a proper manner by putting the necessary things in place before removal, even the high cost of foreign exchange adds to increase cost,he may not devalue the naira as Tinubu did

Oga you have no choice, so stop lamenting and stomach it like you would have if it was Obi in power as he also promised.

You survived the cash scarcity that Obi favoured, you must survive this subsidy removal also favoured by Obi during his unsuccessful campaign.

One attribute of agbado supporters is senselessness

If you have a car that you fuel, you will not be saying this nonsense

Aye comrade, but I am sitting this out.

The truth is, if we keep the subsidy, we would soon end up where Sri Lanka is....broke, decrepit, no money to even pay for anything.

For me it's a choice between the devil with ten thousand tortures and the devil with a billion tortures.

If Obi was in Tinubu's place and was removing subsidy, or even Atiku, I would keep quiet. AND BACK THEM. Forget politics, this goes way beyond politics.

I’m sorry, your analogy doesn’t track.
You don’t save people by implementing what will kill them.
EVEN A 2 YEAR OLD CAN REMOVE SUBSIDY IF GIVEN THE AUTHORITY. YOU JUST NEED TO BE LESS COMPASSIONATE AND SAY THE WORDS.
The SKILL SET here is not in removing subsidy but doing it with a minimal effect. That’s why competency is needed.
I can list a number of things that has to be in place before removing subsidy. A less compassionate person won’t care.

It will hit N1000/litre very soon...

Hopefully, those who supported APC from 2014 till today, are feeling the pains of the seed they sowed because of ethno-religious bigotry in their stance of 'Igbo will not rule Nigeria."
After refusing Muhamnadu Buhari in presidential election for more than a decade because they knew he would not do well, they accepted him in 2014 because some Igbos were in Jonathan's government.
Useless people who sowed seeds that are about to consume their lives.
On Feb 25, 2023, more reasonable Nigerians voted out APC, but Mahmood Yakubu stole the presidential election for Tinubu. These useless people continue to shoot themselves on the feet.

Considering i did not support APC, have never supported APC, do not even back pdp or lp, but if it had been a runoff between Obi and either Atiku or Tinubu, I would have gone to Obi, don't get your drift.

The thing is , this is much bigger than politics. The fact that all the candidates, except Sowore, supported subsidy removal should tell you something.

You're right. All the leading candidates supported it but their manifestos and approaches are different towards the removal of subsidy. Unfortunately, most of those who voted across the lines of sentiments didn't have enough patience to read through LP's manifestos and their stance on subsidy removal. Their headache was Peter Obi, who was the LP's candidate as he vowed to jail and retire their masters and corrupt leaders, should he become president.

Tinubu's announcement of the removal of subsidy in his inaugural speech was tantamount to putting the cart before the horse. See the way people are suffering nationwide? I thought democracy was government of the people and not government of the few. How can you remove subsidy when palliatives weren't already in place? Why act so hurriedly as ifnhe had the magic wand?

We're just giants of Africa for nothing. We should be taking a cue from a country like Angola who reduced subsidy instead of utterly removing it after they had already had robust palliatives in place to cushion the likely effects of the subsidy removal. If care isn't taken, people would soon be stealing to survive in Nigeria

The Renewed Shege price is now N620 per litre in most filling station in Delta....

There haven’t been protests after Jonathan, because those who finance protests are now in charge of government....

The intellectual dishonesty of the Southwest is griming and bile.... I mean, these guys drove Nigerians to Ojota to protest subsidy removal in 2012.

Now, they've gone silent.

That is the greatest hypocrisy my bro..

How could the ethno-religious bigots read through Peter Obi's manifesto on how to remove fuel subsidy? All they are after is what will make Nigeria become an Islamic state ruled by sharia criminal laws, after all, proceeds from crude oil is there to sustain government in Nigeria.

I doubt that Obi doing things differently would have led to a different result.

Tinubu supporters would have been having a field day calling him an oppressor.

Same result if it was Atiku in power.

The problem with subsidy is that there is no easy way of removing it. Even back in 2012, when we had enough savings from subsidy removal to set up something like SURE-P ...(I was not a GEJ fan, but he and his geng were the ones who convinced me of the evil of subsidy, and the SURE-P thing was the final thing that woke me up....so we had all that money from just a partial removal? Okay.)..people were still complaining.

At the end, fuel costs more, and Nigerians would complain. Even if Obi did partial removal..fuel costs more, and Nigerians will complain. Problem is, we have been on the cheap fuel train for decades, and getting off is not that easy.

GEJ should have just told Nigerians to sit down, and then remove the thing. Yeah, hardship, but by now we would have had several domestic refineries producing fuel, and reduced import costs.
