AUS v IRL match
Live on Super Sports 208. Really don't see anything too fantastic in this Australian and Irish Team. 24minutes. 0 - 0. Let's keep our composite. We can do this.

Yeah it’s true, Sam Kerr is having a Knock which will make her miss two games, The Australia ain’t even as threatening as they were before the World Cup…
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 12:00pm On Jul 20, 2023
Ireland are just so solid at the Back with their 3-4-3 formation and they get so hard on the ball too.., they don’t care about possession football, all they do is get you uncomfortable with your own style of play. They press so hard too..

The World Cup is alway different ball game, Let’s see how it goes cause anybody can beat anybody right now ..

FT: New Zealand 1-0 Norway
[Wilkinson 48']

What a start! A historic World Cup opener as New Zealand win their first-ever Fifa World Cup match in front of a record home crowd of 42,137 (the biggest crowd to watch a football match in New Zealand, men's or women's).!

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 12:04pm On Jul 20, 2023
Whatsup with the Long balls from Australia? They better change their tactics, cause this 4-4-2 seems not to be working, trying to find their Wing players with the Long balls..

Are the Canadians any good?

Individually Norway is good but collectively not!
The one that surprised me the most is Ingrid Engen
#7!! She played her pivot role today!

Too many stars buh yet poor football their coach is really tactless and clueless

HT: Australia 0-0 Rep. of Ireland

The debutants Ireland holding their own against the favourites and World Cup co-hosts, eh?

FT: Australia 1-0 Rep. of Ireland

Captain Steph Catley's conversion from the spot in the 52nd minute proves the decider as Australia, like co-hosts New Zealand, grab a one-zip win in their opener in front of a record home crowd of 75,784: the biggest crowd for a women’s football game in Australia.

Must be an Aussie record?
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 2:36pm On Jul 20, 2023
The Norwegians are, borderline, the worst of the four teams that have played.
Up until the 80th, they were barely coherent in their attacking play, and their midfield was almost completely useless which rendered Ada and Graham Hansen ineffective

Maybe a female world cup record. Not sure. Surely an Australian record sha.

Was very surprised. New Zealand dominated almost the entire game. Shocked to say the least. They can still qualify though if they get their acts together.

Yeah, it’s like someone did juju on the Norwegians cos even Bayelsa Queens would beat the Norway that we watched some hours ago. 😁
I agree that if they get their acts together (especially on the tactics), they may get results vs the Swiss and the Philippines

Likely an Aussie record, because the WWC record attendance is the 90,000 crowd that watched the 1999 WC final
