No Original Right Back again apart from Glory Ogbonna and Osinachi Ohale who are makeshift…

Nicole Payne would have been the best option but she wasn’t picked, Hopefully a good performance at PSG will help her Cement her Spot in the SuperFalcons…!

Again, how Ashley walked away from this is a bloody miracle.🫣

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 9:19pm On Jul 21, 2023
Question we Nigerians and Africans should be asking is how Ohale was able to walk away from that vicious stomp from the Canadian white girl?
It was intentional, deliberate and callous. Yet she got away scotch free without a single caution or VAR review?
Seriously? That’s the kind of stomps that produce compound fractures that takes eons to heal and are career ending!

One of the reason the Nigerian fans were shouting about the Referee been Bias… Infact the VAR room too they all could have called her attention but didn’t, Ohale received two of those tackles but no Huitema was only given a Yellow Card..

I taya o. Was the ball even in contention for the ohale own? Definitely not. Yet..... I hate when people try to make it look like we overreacting. When i saw some mad folks defend Matuidi stamp on Onazi that year, that's when i knew you will need a white man to convince these kinds that there is bias in this officiating. Na benefit of doubt dey shield them mostly.

Not even sure why I allowed myself to engage someone who obviously needs attention and is simply incapable of positing a coherent argument.
My bad!

You guys keep engaging someone who craves attention.

Lol.

It's sometimes difficult to ignore. But ever since I realised he's unreasonable and largely just comes to bash Nigerians without making any valid argument, it became easier to ignore

Super Falcons would have beaten Canada if the coaches called up Younger and faster strikers as substitutes and subbed off Onumonu, ordega and oshoala around 60 - 70 minutes.

Onumonu's lack of pace killed off the counter attacks and pressure on the Canadian defense.

The players need to release the ball early.

Obviously, the Super Falcons don't have an attacking formation due to the fact that that Oshoala was usually alone upfront which won't be the case if there wasn't another speedster striker with her.

Gift Monday, Oshoala and Kanu should be the starting strikers.

Super Falcons is missing players like Flourish Sebastian and Ajakaye and onyiniZidane.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS:
For the first foul.
No card was given to the girl who committed the first foul on Ohale.

Whites commentors and analysts ALWAYS use the words 'physical', 'robust' and 'strong' to describe African teams, especially south of the Sahara. They have repeated those words so many times that it has become a dog whistle which has been imbibed by white people and implicitly biases their decision making, including match officials and specifically referees. This is intentional. The seed has been planted. That's why white players get away with murder on the field and everyone turns a blind eye.

There were several incidences I noted - like the blatant foul on Onumonu in the box when she got wrestled to the ground and wacked on the head in the second half. THAT was a clear cut penalty. However, as usual, no review.
The four VAR officials were all white, so were the four on-field officials.

Yet, someone here will turn around and say there was no racist intent?

I noticed Alozie was struggling to defend properly and could hardly make tackles without fouling. She might accumulate so much yellow cards as the tournament progresses that we need someone else in that position.

Good to know, we have someone that can play RB better in PSG

Ucheibe10 was a beast defensively but when it has to do with attack, count her out. She was shooting wayward shots from range and giving the ball back to the opponent when attempting to clear, instead of finding a teammate, to maybe initiate a counter.

Whoever takes over from Randy has the sole task of either creating a more modern pattern of play that makes Oshoala unlocked full barca mode, or totally change the reliance of attack on her that eyes gets off her for a while. 2 World cups, same problem.

We need 3 players

Pace-1
Vision-1
Control-1

Kanu
Onyenezide
Ayinde
Till further notice, we don't look like dominating play unless things change. The personnel is almost on ground, yet...
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 1:51am On Jul 22, 2023
Sorry, but I really struggle to see why everyone things she is all that? Her last international against Ghana was a poor exhibit for her.
I doubt if she will be as successful as Echeghini. In the midfield, I think that lady named Kalu who played in the WAFU competition in Ghana would be the next one to bring aboard the SF. The likes of Ajakaiye and Aminat Bello are waiting in the wings. Also, Rinsola is coming aboard after the WWC.

I hope I am wrong, but I really don't see her being an impact on the SF.

Japan🇯🇵 finally score….

43' | Zambia (0) - (1) Japan

Miyazawa H. (Fujino A.)

Endo serves a fine free-kick into the box; Tanaka finds the back of the net but the goal is ruled offside. Close shave.

Onyenezide is still a teenager and will be nervous when playing her first 5 games for the Super Falcons so it is not wise to write her off and underestimate her...

The same way Deborah Abiodun, Blessing Demehin and the others who were playing there 1st ever World cup match against Canada were nervous.

It's the same reason I wanted Sebastian and Ajakaye at this World Cup to play at least 1 match so that in 4 years time they will have more confidence and calmness.
