Fair enough. ETH is just making a purely football decision. The more talented players available for him the easier his job is.
The club is just confused about what to do because apart from football factors they also have political and social considerations. The Glazers are hoping the situation goes away with time which is why they have been considering a loan deal. That way the final decision is pushed back by a year.

The "investigation" might actually have little to do with the incident itself. It might be about parlaying with sponsors and partners about the repercussions of bringing him in.

I'm certain the Glazers don't want to lose Greenwood. He's an asset. They see him as something that will fetch them money in the future (transfers), or at the least, contribute to fetching them money (better squad, UCL football, more money).

If there won't be any repercussions from bringing him in, they will do so.

Fact. Sancho’s the one that’s really been disappointing, especially with the reputation he had when he arrived. Anthony never really had any rep that high and was only gotten because the coach wanted him at all costs.

It is a bit different in this case. We are mostly selling our average academy players while we keep the good ones in our squad or loan them out. Man City on the other hand are selling some of their best players, and those ones have shown more potential than even most of our best players.
