The other day, it was Russia introducing Yoruba as the first African language to be taught in their university. Then, the Chinese unveiled the first African language textbook (Yorùbá textbooks), and now this.

Abeg let the inferior tribe breath grin grin
As a yoruba guy.I am interested in why they are interested in yoruba.

I also now know why there is this recent coordinated media attack on infusion of yoruba language into afrobeat from a particular quarter.

This is high time we yorubas flaunted language more!

What we don't value due to useless leaders, others are valuing it.
smh. Did you read what you just typed? Who are the we and who are the useless leaders? Yoruba language belongs to no leader! It's the way of life of the Yoruba and if you don't value it, it doesn't mean others don't. Yoruba does not belong to leaders. It's life itself to the Yoruba!

Happy for them!

On behalf of President Joe Robinette Biden, Welcome to The United States of America! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

May the spirit of our ancestors continue to lead and guide you all.

His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) is definitely proud of you all. Asiwaju has always believed in the propagation of Yoruba language to the entire world, and it’s happening already.

God bless Yoruba’s!
The Fulbright FLTA Program is a nine-month, ECA-funded, non-degree program for early career (not more than seven years of teaching experience) English teachers or professionals in related fields to teach their native language in an American college or university.

Na everything be tribalism to una. Didn't u see the bolded? Buhari was still the president when applications for this programme was open for both English teachers, Hausa teachers and Yoruba teachers, both in secondary and tertiary institutions.

So I don't understand now how it all na become Asiwaju has always believed in the propagation of Yoruba language to the entire world

It is mainly because of the Ifa corpus that Yoruba language is popular. Any Babalawo will have communicational fluency because most of the wisdom of the corpus is still in the language for now and Ifa is being studied in universities all over the world with papers being published. That is the reason. However Yoruba is a big language and people with considerable fluency all over the world should surpass 100 million people and that is major. Even one million people is plenty but the owners of the language should buckle up and protect it from decline on its homeland

It's no surprise as yoruba language is one of the best in the world.

Ref...Nigerian music is synonym to yoruba music.

Other languages are mere bonuses for Nigeria

Even within Nigeria, UI and UNILAG have Igbo department but no yoruba language department outside yorubaland. See little things they are celebrating
All these show inferiority-complex on your part. Maybe you have not left the shores of Nigeria before to know that Yoruba language and culture stand tall. Teaching Igbo in UI and UNILAG shows how liberal the Yorubas are, unlike your highly tribalistic set of people call Igbos

No he is not. He is doing the usual headless mob bashing of leaders and it's just too early for that kind of horrible bad energy. Yoruba language is a culture, it's not for sale and when there's an exchange, it's not an opportunity to bash anyone but to think of the opportunities it can unlock and how you are positioned to reap from such. It's not a license to wail or lament. O ji shaaro joor

Some of these ones might be Yoruba ( Hons) degree graduates who may/ may not be necessarily Education graduates.

Nigerians even have Professors in many Western countries and generally outside Nigeria and some still want to classify our educational system as below par.

More of this is welcomed, we all need to make Nigeria better than what we already have and promote it well.... Enough of doing things that bring disrepute to Nigeria or speaking ill of it at the slightest opportunity.

God bless Nigeria

While some are selling all they have to make US, these ones got the opportunity on merit and will even be rewarded with more accolades when they reeturn home after their training completion. If you are great in what you do, the world will notice your light. It's because most of you were defeated and out competed here in Nigeria that makes you think that you can only make it outside. You're one of the problems of this country.

These teachers are taken on merit. Not on sentiment. But in your vocation, sentiment and group loyalty should play a part for any consideration.

Hence your morbid support for Tinubu and APC even though they do not have the required skills to steer affairs of the state.

Until you see issues beyond ethnic prism and primordial considerations, the country will continue to craw without progress and we shall continue to hallucinate on progress and development of other countries like the United States.

Purge yourself of blind politics and hate and it shall be well with you.

Yoruba women going to teach Yoruba, but not embracing Yoruba culture.
Why are they dressed like foreigners?
In Yorubaland, our women don't wear trousers.
It is a proof of our subjugation and domination by foreign British Crown.
We don't have cultural dignity.

If he will congratulate them....someone ,maybe Akin Oshuntokun will have to bring it to his attention.
And is likely to pull down the congratulatory message if his headless mob of disobidients ask him to

Nigeria really dodged a bullet
You're not well informed. Igbo is being taught in several American universities before this announcement. So,it is no big deal.

Anyway, I still congratulate them for being the xhosen ones.
