Most Nigerians especially Igbos see the idea of moving back to their hometown as a defeat. If the City (for instance Lagos) becomes very difficult, I don't see anything wrong in relocating. There are people there afterall.

What are your thoughts on this?

Relocating back with a plan is no defeat.

A man in my village relocated back with his family, after completing his house.
He started pure water business there, and is living life with ease.

If you're not relocating to the village at an age that is considered to be your inactive years where rest and peace of mind is the prime focus, Oga you are a failure!

Some of these Lagosians you see would have fair very well if they move back to their villages and apply same energy for hustling. Besides villages ain't really villages anymore.

This is true.

But the Issue is Nigeria have a Useless Government.

Things like Good and Accessible Roads, Pipe borne Water, Electricity and Support should be extended to those Villages. These are just basic amenties for goodness sake. Let this Happen and see how Lagos will be decongested.

Personally, I don't like residing in the City. I prefer where there is a lot of Vegetation with a good Network.

Nothing stops you from buying a land in one quiet village and building a house there, you know?

i grew up in in a compound of 13 families nd so mny children running around...my parents are the oldest ...the families there are majorities Deltan nd yorubas...

when my dat reach seventy he talked my mom into relocation to the village as he says lagos is now too fast for him to even cross the roads...mum grudgingly accepted ...

he shared same ideas with his fellow parents nd they replied they are still too young to go...the Deltans said..ppl dint go back home to delta once u leave for the cities....now its 25years later...

only my mum nd Dad are alive among all the other 12 parents...they all died som of stroke, some accident, some cancer, some kidney.....

my both parents are still alive at 91 nd 83....

cheesy Even God instructed Abraham to leave his father's land to be blessed, same way Joseph was blessed in a foreign land, Esther the same.

Same Bible said wherever your feet is I will bless you. It's not only when you move out of your village

Back then in the early 80s, I lost a few of my uncles after they relocated to the village due to ill health. My father after his retirement in 1999 never went to the village. He stayed back in the city! Today, my father is 87 years because he never joked with his doctors' appointments. Healthwise, village life in Nigeria is not ideal. However, if u have good medical infrastructure in the village, why not? For me, I served in a village called Orokam in Benue State. Honestly, I enjoyed the village life as a corper. The serenity, greeness, market days, fresh idoma girls tying wrappers with their singlets with no bra on were good views!

When you fail in life, squander all your money in betting, womanizing, and meth paraphernalia, just accept that you have failed and move back to your village where you'll have no responsibility
