Did you guys notice when Game was 1-1, the Brisbane crowd were roaring & cheering the Maltidas, enters Asisat Oshoala! The whole stadium went quiet. Oshoala forced a corner...Nigeria scores; she then nets one herself. The Australian fans really knew what was coming.

The streets know game...Agba Baller🙌
on the feed I was watching the commentator said something about how the crowd went quiet as soon they saw her.

We can all see the Oshoala presence now
We know what she's capable of. We just need to see it more often. That's the only crux.

Baba said hopefully we don't concede as many as other African teams. grin grin
Don't mind those lots. They'll rather exclaim ooooooph that call a tackle on Ohale a potential red card.

So far so good,

Two WOTM from the defence

Nnadozie and Ohale

When are the Midfield and Attack going to snatch their 1st?

Easy on the Ajibade and Randy praises for now abeg. Yeah she did well in this game. I expect more henceforth. It's not going to go away that easily until i see consistency. She was missed in 1st game anyway. But i guess that helped her and Ayinde mentally to give their best. It worked.
Give praises to people who deserve to be praised especially when the going is good..

You can't be easy on praises when people are performing well that's a negative behavior.

They condemned and criticized Ajibade.

SF won and should be praised for their performance after playing against Australian fans, Whyte supremacist referees e.t.c

Super Falcons just need to train and master possession football and they will be unstoppable.

The midfield players and attackers don't make themselves available for passing when SF is trying to pass from defense and that's what led to Australian's 1st goal.

She really did great. Saw her dedication after she got injured and refused to be substituted. Cracking player!

She’s a gem. Every defender and midfielder that started today actually deserve their place for the next match, for the front 3 only Ajibade and Oshoala have a cemented spot. Kanu did well by scoring but definitely has a lot to work on. Hope halimatu’s injury isn’t serious sha. Anyone have a idea how well Echegini can play the no 10 role, so Payne can move to the wings and perform more magic

When does Abiodun's suspension end?
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by isan(m): 4:08pm On Jul 27, 2023
Probably after group stage

Our prayer now is that Halimatu Ayinde Injury isn’t serious cause the moment she left the Midfield dry Finnish…

And against Ireland Ayinde and Ucheibe physicality will help a lot💯

A wise And futuristic FA will start scouting for her understudy by now. Especially if its to just gumbody to her and learn stuff up and close. She has 1 WWC left in her before she bows out in fashionable and amazing style. Ohale is the biggest revelation of the decade to this team. No capping. Remove her and virtually lots of stuff crumbles no matter how talented the team is. Glad we have her.

An Amazon!!
Omoooooorrrr
Osinachi Ohale na Defender oo, She’s literally caring the team as the most experienced in the Backline. I just hope Demehin get that Confidence as that seems to be her major weak point if not she has been doing well in the absence of Onome Ebi..
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 4:13pm On Jul 27, 2023
The only mistake Randy made in his Substitution is bringing in Glory Ogbonna instead of Imuran.

Imuran would have been more effective, This restricted Esther Okoronkwo to defensive duties instead going forward a bit..

Glory Ogbonna is a no in that defense to me…

True

Demehin did very well defensively. She needs to work on her confidence as to avoid making simple mistakes. Defensively she's been rarely found wanting.

Exactly. Th criticism on Rash prior to today's game were valid. It doesn't mean we won't applaud her when she put up a fantastic display, especially when it comes from a player we all know (irrespective of performance) has great potentials.

She was fantastic today. 2 assist no be beans.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 4:19pm On Jul 27, 2023
The rules state it’s a one game suspension unless the disciplinary committee decides to tack on extra punishment.
Right now, she should be eligible for the Ireland game

Who noticed the description of Nigeria's second goal.

Nigeria leads, and it was nodded in by Ohale. Almost on the goal line and she injured herself

So disrespectful! And apparently, it was actually a FIFA officer, not even the journalist, it seems.
Ridiculous of them.

The announcer on Fox also said Asisat scored the second goal initially. They changed minutes later. They have one job and they fail at it

I obviously wasn't speaking for you na. I had criticism about her play as do many persons here and we expressed it while hoping she shows up today. I even went as far as suggesting areas I felt she needed changes.

Criticisms o not those just launching unreasonable attack.

Forget this one

Pace is everything in this WWC. 85% of the goals since 1st game are dependent on one or two pacy players. It is the most important factor in attacking in women's game. An attacking duo/trio needs it all through 90mins. Especially as the best teams in this tournament all have pacy players that press hard and fast.

Forget.
True. One of the reson spain is always starting Paralluelo, to help stretch opponents defences and give the midfielders space to do their magic.

One of the reasons why i feel spain will go far in this tournament. The addition of those pacy and direct wingers to their squad during those months of strike by the other players was a blessing in disguise for them. Now they can score goals without having to pass their opponent to death and in different dimensions. Its no coincidence they became free scoring in this competition, comparred to Euros.

Lol
There ain't no way we're not qualifying.

Let's even assume we lose.
Canada win, Aussie remain on three points.
They draw, we almost certainly have a superior GD or goals scored to Australia because we're on +1 and they are on 0.
Aussie win, we will certainly have a better GD than Canada. Right now we're ahead on goals scored. We have the same GD of +1.

If we draw, no matter the result in the other game we are qualifying.

If we win we almost certainly top the group.
If Canada wins Australia and We lose to Ireland by a 2 goal margin, we're out. Qualifying teams will be:
Canada 7pts
Ireland 4pts (+1 GD)
Nigeria 4pts ( -0 GD)
Australia 3pts.

We just need a draw to be sure of qualification.

Sneaky Edit: Ireland is on 0pts...So they're out.

Sorry about that.
