You need to fight them with strong words, insist and stand your ground.
Tell them you did not sign such a contract with them, and that you have paid them all the due commissions in the course of domicilling the account with the resident(active)broker.
There is no law that says , you must pay for transferring your account. It is all about discretionary reap off which you can fight. I am not and would never be gentle with financial institutions. All they are after is reaping you off.

Bra, fight for every kobo you can fight for. The world 🌎 is programmed to fleece people and render them 💩 poor.
If possible, copy SEC and FCCPC in your letter.
I have transferred from 2 brokerage firms without paying a kobo. I showed them 🌶 pepper 🌶 🤣, I meant chili 😋 🌶 🫑. without visiting their office.
Na so them surrender my sweat and blood portfolio unconditionally.
I always win against these financial 🐆 🐆 leopards at alternative dispute resolution and regulatory agencies without the service of a lawyer or going through the court process.

Always let them know how important and how strongly you value your portfolio.
The 🖊 pen is mightier than the sword 🗡.
Use your pen to protect your sweat and blood.
You must pay, if not they won't approve your transfer.

The money is between N3,000 to N10,000.

CSCS should insist on a uniform rate

Fantastic result ooo...
The days of Transcorp below 4 may soon be over..... grin
Saw Transcorp at 3.50 yesterday and was just saying to myself .....see opportunity!
Otedola knows what he saw ahead before offering to buy it @6 even when it was selling at circa N1 that time.

I don't get it.why would the resident House charge me when they are not rendering any service to me.The only reason I would want to open another account is to move from another house.

Pls anyone who has transferred from active house before should share the cost implications.
* You'll pay Transfer of Stock charges with the resident house......na you wan carry their potential fees go na... grin
* The cost varies from house to house, but should be around N5k or more, depending on the house.
* The 10days mentioned by Emma doesn't work like that ooo........if it's fast and maybe he's going to oversee it for you by himself, then be looking at 2-3mths, if not it will pass 3 mths.
* You don't have to open another account with Investment One prior to the transfer.......
* Once the transfer is successful, Investment One will create an account for you with the coming transferred shares........CSCS won't allow the account to be lumped with existing one.
* Once transfer is successful, remember to cross check and ensure that your "Direct Cash Settlement Form" was indicated "NO" and activated from CSCS end.

Impairment is not strong enough to capsize the sailing vessel of Transcorp.
The growth trajectory should be commendable.
Energy sales and anxilary SVC contributions is doubled Q2 2022 vs 2023.
The power unit 💪 is powering the cash flow at the appropriate time, the 45% equity in OML 17 will turn to an income stream for the group. This will activate the organic growth phase of Mr Transcorp.
They are on the right track. That oil and gas subsidiary should be a revenue generating unit too. And the right time should be now since subsidy has gone.

I paid nothing in 2019 and 2020 transfers from 2 leading brokers to my index brokers
My pen is not nice to read when it comes to my pen.
The 2 brokers would tell you the speed at which they surrender my portfolio to the index.
You dare not mess with my money. I protect my sweat and blood with my pen.
I don't want to mention names of the financial institutions I had won dispute against at the cbn, FCCPC, sec.
I would never pay such money I repeat.(10×)
I trust what my pen can do.

It is a statutory payment, the money is small. It used to be less than N5000

You might have excess cash in your Stockbroking account, which the former Stockbrokers used before they approved the transfer

Knowledge of the rules that guide operations of Capital Market Operators is key. A stockbroker is just an agent who is paid commission (pegged @1.35%). Any other services rendered outside the capital market operations can be charged as prior agreed. After collecting his commission, he has no hold over your shares, unless there's a lien in place. Besides, the shares are actually domiciled at CSCS.

Some time ago, some firms charged to open CSCS account for clients; some even peg their commission at minimum of N500 or 1.35% per transaction (whichever is higher) such that if you sell shares worth N800, they take N500 as commission. These are infractions that the client wins if escalated to the regulators.

I have transferred from a firm sometime ago without paying a dime. They were foot dragging until I petitioned NSE who queried them and they effected the transfer immediately. Ordinarily, a firm would not want to loose a client, but have no right to hold down any that wants to leave, if they are not owed.

Eternal Oil was part of the six companies that got the petrol import license for the month of July. The news made them one of the best performing stock from June till date. Let's see if their Q2 result will align with their present price. Fingers crossed.

I read somewhere that fg only granted 3 companies license, which eternal oil was one of them. I think the impact will be felt in their q3 result. But wait, what swallowed seplat gross profit of #140585m?

There is no catalyst to propel a general bull for now. The Northward movement will now be selective. Companies with strong Q2 result like MRS will definitely rally, interim dividends might also make others enjoy little upside. Short term instruments are beginning to look good , 1 year TBills is now about 12%. Investors are likely to start paying more attention to that space, if the rate keeps inching up. At this point CASH IS KING cos a lot of companies will trade at a bargain in coming days. Shalom
