I can understand you wanted to remain in the quarters because you thought you had served for a long time & deserved the favour, so I’m guessing it’s your first job experience. You thought wrong bro, only very few bosses reward people. For me i quit unannounced, I don’t like the drama especially with a female boss. People will want to criticize my method but also remember that you can be fired or dismissed unceremoniously & replaced at anytime. My former boss keeps singing nobody is indispensable until i left her ass & she couldn’t find a replacement, i kept hearing from former coworkers how she missed me till the business folded. Na you no do well, you should have combined the school work with the laundry work,since you still want to stay in their property until you raise enough money to move out.

You are resigning from a black man establishment and still expect to use his property for business. You did think well guy go and get a place for yourself outside his property. Resigning means signing of enmity in Nigeria context.

Rule number one, don't rush to quit a job to establish a business you have not started and nutured yet. Starting up is good. But stratigising is the key. You just mentioned you want to be using the place the school gave you for rent at a reasonable price I guess for your business and now you have been pushed out. The man was considerate but guess what this will not go well for the woman as she has used her husband to push you out. Men are considerate but women hell no most especially if it's not going to favour her. I do hope you have alternative place.

And note that the moment you stopped working with a private enterprise, every benefits cuts off immediately. The next person to be employed could make use of that place.

You could have started there, get a shop, sort those things little by little. Especially your accommodation. So don't blame the boss.

As for not being celebrated, forget about that. It's not a must. Just THANK God you are out of there.

Yes, that's entitlement mentality.

If he quit working for them, he must move out. The business owner would need the place for her replacement. Next time make sure everything is set before resigning.

As long as you're being paid for services you render to an organization, your argument of labouring and toiling day and night wouldn't hold any water.

That's why staffs are expected to request for a salary review once they begin to feel that the salary they're being paid doesn't match the their contributions to the organization.

That said, you resigned from work and still expect to retain the official accommodation, that's very wrong of you. You're leaving them, this means that whoever would be employed to take over your duties would definitely need that room.

You should have planned this out before resigning. You should have opened the dry-cleaning center in that room whilst still doing your teaching job, in the evenings you wash and iron clothes for customers, in the mornings you go to school. It would have been better that way.

Next time seek counsel before taking any decision, so that you won't live to regret it.

I mentioned the other region because I had a very bad experience with someone from other region. He had 4 original chargers which he took from our other friends, he wasnt using any of them, he was a friend. My charger spoilt and he was offering to sell. I remainded him, about how he got the chargers and we are friends. I thought he was joking till he insisted he's going to sell one for me at 4k!
