However, I recently saw an interview the late Ikenmba granted one of these foreign news TV BBC I think where he said nobody should repeat the same mistake he made by leading his people to war. You are obviously up to mischief or that you are ignorant of Igbo culture! There is considerable leeway for a man to will his property to who he so wishes! A wife has every right to inherit her husband's property on behalf of her male children or even female!

I think the problem is that ikemba inherited all of his father's confiscated property based on the sole fact that he fought the government for years before the Lagos government and to a lesser extent the federal government agreed to cede the estate back to Ikemba..........I feel ikemba while alive should have taken the Queens drive residence for himself and set up a trustee to manage the remaining properties on behalf of his brothers........that way he would have shielded his young sons from wahala! Afterall how many houses do you need in lagos!

This is not a an issue of woman right
it's an Ibo tradition of first male determine who gets what ...And if he decides to give or not........They won't give up that fight easily the reason why it's still on its because the property it's in Lagos and Awolowo never took what didnt belong to them after the war like it was in Portharcourt where they lost all their properties in to the indigenes ......
Am sure she can't get any other property within Ibo land ...

Chukwuemeka ojukwu was not the first son. He only exploited his prominence, as abacha released the properties, which were seized in the first instance because of him, to him. He usurped his brothers positions. Ojukwu wasnt necessarily a considerate individual most times.

The said properties belonged to Sir Phillip Ojukwu, the erstwhile wealthiest man in Nigeria. These were part of the properties confiscated by the federal government of Nigeria as a punitive measure, resultant of his son's participation in the Nigeria-Biafra civil war. They should have resolved this issue amicably, they were silent for so long when odumegu was alive.
