kanu is more of a goal threat than team player
Kanu is a good player but she isn’t inform right now, She has been struggling with form since her move to the NWSL, She’s arguably one of our best upfront and the most complete too..

You must take it to heart that Ucheibe will continue to play in that Midfield as she’s very fit, have the energy of two players, Fast and her Defensive attributes in the
does she have the energy and strength of toni pain

I fear for this team oh. Kanu, ucheibe onumonu, plumptre should never near first team again. They are bunch of liabilities
you're not serious..

Kanu almost scored.. All Kanu needs is a good pass or good cross or good midfield and she will score.. If the midfielders and attackers can play passes among themselves better..... then our attackers will score. only problem is she does not seem to work well with Plumptre.

ucheibe is a defensive rock and titan and she has defensive work rate that only Ayinde and Deborah Abiodun can match.

Onumonu can press and her work rate off the ball is amazing. her only problem is lack of pace. there was an opportunity she had either in injury time or close to 90mins if she had pace she would have been 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper.

Plumptre is tall and good defensively. her problem is pace and the winger on her wing and midfielders leaving her isolated.

You can’t compare Christy Ucheibe Energy and Strength in that team to anyone else, Halimatu Ayinde and Osinachi Ohale are the ones that come close, Ucheibe is the horse power in that team, ask Onome Ebi and Tochukwu Oluehi they would tell you..

Tony is smarter, more skillful and an all round better player.. But Ucheibe is a typical African Strong Player..

If you wan go Stop Players like Barbara Banda, Racheal Kundananji that are physical and quick defensively, go with Christy Ucheibe, Halimatu Ayinde, Osinachi Ohale etc.. Onyi Echegini, Tony Payne are better ball Passers but can’t give you what Ucheibe gives defensively…

In all the matches played today 4 goals were scored
except for the falcons game. I have to admit conceding just one (not counting that rubbish 2nd goal in 13 mins extra time) goal in 3 games shows how disciplined this team is. I hope people still show support on social media cos they will all see it. 7 days break will be good for us.
we have a good goalkeeper. Thank god she's no longer playing those horrendous goal kicks but opting for short passes. Its like she's learning from ederson

That extra time goal shaa

But the Aussies are good at corners.
i'm so happy they qualified. They are a great side
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 2:25pm On Jul 31, 2023
The SuperFalcons did enough to advance from the group stage and that is the main takeaway, but they did not enter the last 16 in the most convincing way. After beating Australia last time out, you might have expected Nigeria to really kick on against already-eliminated Ireland and send out a marker, in the process likely ensuring they avoided the European champions (England) in the next round. Instead it was a flat and often defensive performance, which feels a little like a step back.
Credit must go to Ireland, who played well too trying to get something at least, and it is job done for Nigeria after all, but they may come to rue not being more attacking if things don't go their way in the next round…

Nigeria 🇳🇬🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The real fact here is that our girls played good football.
Ireland gave Australia big problems, we beat Australia convincingly! Ireland scored Canada first and would've drawn with them if not for their defender's error, they lost the match to Canada, we drew against Canada. Now Australia whooped Canada 4–0! The same Australia we beat! We're actually the best team in our group!

Ireland girls are playing EXACTLY the same tactics we're using, painstaking defence, then counterattack. We just tasted our own medicine and I'm happy we stood strong! It's just like Dream League's All Star mode - you playing against yourself. In this kind of match, it can go both ways or end in a draw!

Going into the knockout stages, watch and see wonders. Naija is sailing to the Quarterfinals! And then to the Semis ✍🏾

For the record 📉

✅ 6 games unbeaten for the Super Falcons 🦅 now!
✅ FIRST African team to keep two cleansheets at the FIFA Women's World Cup
✅ First time going to the knockout stages UNBEATEN!
✅ FIRST time Nigeria is proceeding out of a group with a positive goal difference (+1)

Respect 🫡

Congratulations 🎉 Super Falcons 🦅💚
Congratulations Randy Marlon Waldrum 🇺🇸🇳🇬💚
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 2:56pm On Jul 31, 2023
3 counter attacks. 3 goals. This is devastatingly clinical.

With this score line, Spain’s stats should have been on Japan’s side, save for the shots on target. Truth be told I never saw Japan beating Spain sef, So hopefully the Falcons can also upset the English side as it’s possible because they look like our possible opponents at around of 16

Somebody beats England 8-0 and that's the team you want to play.
Obviously, I was joking. You seriously don't think I will be expecting such a ludicrous scoreline?
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 2:59pm On Jul 31, 2023
Halimatu Ayinde.
The steel. She is called Elder by her teammates. she is tireless. She provided a good cover for midfield and defense. Her understanding with Christy Ucheibe have been superb too.

Ayinde cleaning up things in that Central Defensive Midfield position have been so Smooth and she's quite neat on the ball. Should start her own cleaning business at this rate.

This defensive low block will kill us in the long run if we refuse come out and play. A team that has the ball wins the match. Sitting back to soak pressure will only reduce our chances going forward
Why are your takes so alien to the football game we are all watching for years? 😏😏😏😏😏

So what Japan vs Spain proves is that the team that has the ball wins abi? Same Japan vs Spain in Qatar,Spain won the game abi? undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided

Her biggest asset is that she's fast.
Not just fast. Her goal threat is there as well. She doesn't need more than a touch to threaten an opponents goal. Swap her with 4 other players for that goal vs Aussies and watch as they'll all miss by taking an extra touch.

Payne's cross too...

She has her own issues, but she's more than just pace abeg.

Sincerely, Wingbacks tactics will work efficiently. Why cos all 3 games, the most penetrable spots were our flanks. Even when it was locked up, all 3 teams still loved to pass thru their cos the centre was on lock. If Alozie and Imuran/Plumptre can play such role, we won't really need our Wingers coming back to defend anything. Easier said than done, but we have the personnel to play the style well.

Thissss 343, where the front two paired with the striker are more like playing midfield.
