The Northern woman who shed tears days ago during her ministerial screening and was subsequently asked to take a bow and go by the Akpabio led Senate, is the same woman who was rejected by the Senate 3years ago, when Buhari forwarded her appointment to the house for screening and confirmation, after it was found that she skipped the NYSC scheme.

Based on my experience auditing Federal ministries and agencies, I have come to realize that public administration is entirely different from running a private business. So, good CV is encouraging and comforting, it takes a lot of local intelligence, wit, courage, experience and total commitment to run an MDA successfully.

The FG is a very complex system that is run based on laws, rules, tight budget, regulations, bureaucracy, thousands of circulars, asslicking, corruption, horse trading etc. These are issues private business owners don’t usually face on a high scale. He will have to learn how to navigate the system from the more experienced civil servants who may mislead him for their own selfish interest. I wish him the best.
