- click/mark the privacy box and click continue
- on the next page, select Canada Border Services Agency from the drop-down
- from the next drop-down, select foreign national outside of Canada
- fill out your required information in the boxes below
(Use your Nigerian address and phone number pls)
- Pick yes to the question about requesting information on your behalf if so
- pick member of the public for the category that best describes you
- Pick electronic copy for how you prefer to receive your notes/records
- click continue
- on the next page, pick privacy act on the 1st drop-down
- select English in the next drop-down
- select case files for the type of records
- fill out all necessary information below(for UCI number, use the format XX-XXXX-XXXX)
- in the comment box write a short intro and your request. Eg:
Hello/Hi
My name is SURNAME, First Second. I have applied for a study permit, my UCI is soso and my application number is soso, DOB. I would like to have the notes for my file
- then click continue
- also click continue on the next page(you don't fill anything here)
- you are taken to the final page where you review or edit your info
- check the I certify box and click continue
- you should receive a confirmation email from CBSA

So u can actually order for ur note free of charge

Thank you so much. I'll use this method. Seems you're not certain if it's for free though.

According to IRCC, you are expected to show a bank statements of 4months old, so if your resumption date is next month, i believe you ought to have done the needful before now, btw it's not just having the funds but, proper explanation of the source.

Good evening Sir

Thank you for all your responses.

Please my BP is high.

An agent helped me to get admission. I am supposed to start school 6th September 2023.

I decided to apply to embassy myself. I have done my biometrics on the 8th of August 2023 and upfront medicals.

My agent sent me a message today that he deferred my admission. I have also gotten an acknowledgment message from the school that they have received my application to defer application to Spring 2024.

My school is Conestoga college.

I am confused. I need advice

You have to update your new letter of acceptance on your application portal.

This may be applicable to you as well..
I was given automatic 18 months of open work permit extension free of charge by ircc..on July 2023
Work permit already delivered at canada resident address ..however I will have to make a separate application for temporary resident Visa /TRV using form IMM 5257 and pay $100...After approval ircc will request passport for stamping for travel purposes..
You may have to wait until you receive your study permit and Apply for TRV..for visa stamp on passport page..

Submission of passport is not required for in-Canada approvals. You can apply for a visitor visa if you intend to travel outside of Canada before your study permit expires; otherwise, you don’t need it.

The opening balance likely increased over a short period without sufficient evidence regarding the sources of the funds. So, it seems that the VO believes that the funds are for demonstration purposes, especially if your sponsor’s salary or income is insufficient to account for the funds within such a period and there is little or no documentation on the sources of the funds.
MayorJoshofNewY:

GUYS, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got Generic Refusal Letter today shortly after BVL. This is the quoted reason

"• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph R216(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/section-216.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable)."

Total funds needed for the TWO years MSc is 60,000 CAD equivalent to about 35Million at exchange rate of 580 Naira to 1 CAD.

We used spouse's Account with Opening Balance of 8M and closing of 16.5M and an Investment Certificate of 20M and Accompanying Reference letter to IRCC.

From the officer's response, what can we do better as we intend to RE-APPLY almost immediately.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by bullstriker: 5:03am On Aug 11, 2023
Only if someone sponsors you; it is insufficient if you apply as a self-sponsor.

I studied business education (accounting).
I graduated in 2019
I graduated with second class upper
Am into teaching
Four years of working experience
Yes it's related
Note: I want to go for diploma because of the cost of Master's Degree. Am skeptic should I apply for diploma or not.

Good morning guys, please I just went for passport collection, and I am to leave Nigeria ending of August because my school is resuming September 4, but the problem now is my agent has refused to give me my login to my ircc portal. But I have the school login. And all the documents received like my LOI, and others. I wanted to ask if I will need that gc key login for anything ? Or should I just leave him to his fate

A diploma is a wrong Academic Progression for a Bachelor's degree holder. A Visa Officer officer will most likely frown at that, cos he will assume you just want to JAPA (Wrong Purpose of Visit to Canada). Since you have a 2.1, A Visa Officer will expect you to go for a Masters degree in a related field (Academic Progression).

Though some members on this platform have said that if such applicant can give cogent reasons on his/her SOP why he/she wants to go for a Diploma (as a Bachelor's degree holder) instead of a Masters, then that person's study visa application might be approved.

I would suggest you await the response of the gurus on that, or some based on experience response from Bachelor's degree holder who used diploma admission to get their Study Visa Approved to Canada before making a move.

You might need it but just leave it for him. You can always open a new GCkey acct and use your UCI number. All these agents. He wants you to always run back to him if you have any need to either apply for study permit extension or anything

Just as you said. The SOP is the key.
I had a 2.1 and still went for a diploma. So nothing spoil.
