Mr Governor visited the facility unannounced to have an on-the-spot assessment of the hospital and other activities.

Yesterday, Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu paid an impromptu visit to the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital, catching the medical personnel unaware at exactly 6:35pm

Mr Governor walked quietly into the hospital’s maternity ward where two expectant mothers were being examined.

The care is FREE OF CHARGE. The medical expenses are completely covered under the health palliative scheme declared by the Governor across the Lagos State-owned General Hospitals which includes CS deliveries.

The Governor moved to Lagos Island Hospital, Odan, where he personally took an audit of facilities in the 10-storey Doctor’s Quarters.

Governor @jidesanwoolu conducted on-the-spot assessment of apartments, stores, and power supply system in the quarters. He was led by representative of the House Officers, Dr. Segun Ogunlana.

As a follow up to our decision to offer free antenatal services and free birth deliveries for women at the State’s General Hospitals to help cushion the effect of the current economic situation, I paid an unscheduled visit to the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital this evening, for an on the spot assessment on how effective the medical palliative care is being implemented

Healthcare is very critical, and we must do everything to ensure it is available at the best level for everyone.

I also made an unscheduled visit to the General Hospital, Odan to do on-the-spot assessment of the level of facilities at the hospital and the medical quarters, with a view to determining the level of intervention needed

As part of our THEMES + agenda, we have made major strides across different levels of healthcare in Lagos, with major interventions still planned to support continued improvement.

The visit is proper and good but at least he should have looked more serious and show a sense of solace. Someone just died there and you are visiting them sporting a face cap with your hands in different pockets, posing and showing your swag. More like a kid going for a football match. Doesn't show respect to the occasion.

Free of charge my foot. He should have interviewed the pregnant mothers there if d hospital didn't ask for money. He will be shocked to hear that the hospital management do collect money from them. They may term d money collected 'blood donation fee'.
