Gilgil:It's like you don't get it, transporters are cashing out big. 9300× 30= 279,000 5500× 30= 165,000 Difference of 114,000 as a gain compared to before while civil servants still earn the old salary. if you complain that 9300 can't buy what 5500 can buy before, yes I agreed to some extent but the salary structure of civil servant still remain the same. |

Love800: Well... It depends on the schools you're targeting. If it's those private mushroom schools they may not really look at that but if its standard schools like most of the ones I take, they'll consider qualification. Just make sure you get a certificate for this course to tender at least in case they ask. Though most mushroom schools don't ask. |

Princewill1: Minimizing smuggling won't work. Recall also that Libya and Angola have massive smuggling issues on their borders. So long as the price differential is favourable, smuggling cannot be minimized. Unlike Egypt, Algeria, Angola and Libya that has stable power supply, larger part of electricity generation in Nigeria comes from private individuals powering their generating plants with petro and diesel. Production of goods in Nigeria is definitely going to decline due to this removal in a period where govt is preaching 'local production' to it's citizens to mitigate over reliance on foreign goods. Egypt has stable power supply because they have the income from a diversified economy to pay for it, as does Algeria. Also, over there...you cannot bypass meter without getting into problems. So, the power sector can make money to pay for everything. Also, Egypt has phased out subsides on power, meaning that power companies can make more profit. Nigeria does not have a diversified economy at all. The oil money to begin with is not enough for all of us. Talkless of even the Niger delta. Egypt with 112m population produces lesser oil than we do, they rarely export. They even import crude oil to compliment their local consumption yet pays billions of dollars to Petro subsidy this year only. Subsidized Fuel is sold at about N301 in Egypt. 1.Remember I said that Egypt has a diversified economy...including income from tourisim and agro-allied sector. (Everybody got to see da pyramids...plus there are some christian pilgrimage sites in Egypt too.). 2.Even if Tinubu increased prices to N301...most people would still complain about it being high. 3.Subsides are on the way out. Forget about our population. Nigeria's REAL daily oil consumption may tally or even be lesser to that of Egypt because they have a more industrized economy. The cabal in Nnpc was putting up a bogus number as our daily oil consumption rate. That's the corruption in the oil sector Tinubu should have focused on along side sending troops to secure our land borders. Well, it is up to 100m liters per day at the height of subsidy, and now dipping below 60 million now for Nigeria. Egypt at half our population chops 46 million liters of fuel Remember you said that we run most of our businesses on fuel...that's why it was that high. During Trump's administration, he collaborated with Mexico to send 26 thousands Mexican troops to the border to checkmate illegal immigration. You can't tell me that govt in Nigeria can't drastically minimize smuggling. And illegal immigration still happened under Trump. Infact it was legal immigration that reduced, not illegal. Also, remember Libya is using air strikes on illegal fuel smuggling...yet it still happens. So long as the benefits dey, (illegal migrants can earn ten times what they earn in their home countries in the USA...doing menial jobs...and smuggliers can earn so much naira a day, even after paying off all the payables off)..people would still do the illegal stuff. 1 Like |
