Newcastle were someway off our position in league before the Saudis bought the club. In the timeframe, since they bought Newcastle, have they outspent us? (I don't have the facts) but I'll be surprised if they have. We had the better squad before the Saudis bought the club and I am not sure they have significantly outspent us since January 2022 but on the footballing side, they have been growing from strength to strength...

The Newcastle example should tell you it has more to do with the guys on the pitch and the manager.

Aston Villa is another example.
They said the relationship between Glazers and the fans is what is affecting the players. Another thing affecting the team is that Glazers has refused to spend out of their personal money

ETH needs to be saved from himself. His talent identification is not good enough.
Coaches will always come and go so, I am not a fan of a club letting the coach make big calls especially as it has to do with in-comings.

We went from a Moyes who prefers traditional English long balls to Van Gaal who is a possession freak to Mourinho was rather defends and hits on the counter to Ole who is straight-up clueless to Ragnick the supposed father of ghen ghen pressing to ETH who favours quick transition. This sequence has seen us buy players to suit each manager to the detriment of the club because after 3-4 years, the manager is gone and we are back to square one. This is one area where I think as we club we can improve on.

Let those in charge decide what kind of football we want to play as a club and hire managers who are renowned for such a pattern of play. If they hire Conte after ETH I won't be surprised sha. Here, I fault the board.

ETH wanted Kane, Rice etc...?
Hmmm. The famous list saga is within us once again.
Let's not start abeg. Weren't we in the conversation for both players?

Whichever sports reporter you rate, go check his/her post about Rice and Kane and United.

We've decided which style we want to play. It's now for the funds to be spent so as to actualize it.

The earlier we want success, the more we've got to spend.

Let me tell you something. If you had given someone like Ancelloti that United squad ETH inherited and given him 400m plus over 2 years, I believe he'll achieve far greater than ETH can in the same timeframe.

Difference is, we want an identity, system and style of play. We want a manager that'll be here for 10 years plus building top squads again and again.

That's the reason you can't use Newcastle as an example. Imagine telling Pep to utilize Longstaff, Gordon and co to challenge for something.

Also a DoF that isnt clueless or can spot gems. Klopp had to be convinced to sign Salah by Michael Edwards who was in charge of Liverpool's recruitment. Klopp wasnt keen until Edwards convinced him Salah was the one instead of Julian Brandt. The rest is history.

How much did Liverpool pay for Mac Allister?

How did Chelsea pay for Jackson?

Macalister and Liverpool have been in discussion since eternity. When have we ever moved fast in a transfer window. Is that one ETH?

And don't mention any Chelsea players abeg. They bought hundreds of them. If one doesn't work, they'll try another. Want to compare that with ETH that has to get it right.

No, I'm not absolving the manager of blames. I've gone through the last 5 pages on this thread, and Ten Hag is getting 100% of the blames. Even the one that mentioned Glaziers was shut down. We're just going through the same route we've gone through again and again post Ferguson.

Tbh, last 2 years, the Glaziers have not been terrible. Not sure they've taken any money out of the club last 2 years. They've been investing everything 'the football club' has the ability to.

But the problem is, we need owners that'll invest their own funds into the club. If we don't get this, we won't be able to compete. We'll just play catch up in a good season, and then fall off the next.

I feel you are contradicting yourself with the bolded. Man United is one of the highest spender in the last 5 years. What progress has the club made with the huge amount of money spent in the past that warrant additional money from the owners?

I feel the problem is that the club management and the football managers seem to not have a clear vision of what they want and how to achieve it. Or should I say that there seem to be series of miscommunication of vision between the club management and the football managers. It’s obvious with the kind of players the club signs and the kind of players currently at the club and the division between the fans on the football managers and club management saga. If you like spend billions upon billions, nothing will change.

Man City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich are where they are today because they have stable football managers who know what they want and management that agree with their vision and are ready to commit to it. Arsenal and Newcastle are doing that recently too.

Tbh, I don't really care about the last 5 years cuz that's another discussion.

My one is each manager and how they've been backed. No one cares about how much Emery or Pellegrini spent.

All I know is ETH inherited the worst United team we've ever seen. And need massive investment in that team to battle it out with a Man City that's basically a super team, A Chelsea that has spent billions, and an Arsenal that's been gradually built over 4 years.

They are called Trojan Horses- bitter, frustrated non-fans who put their personal agendas, vendettas and delusions over the team's onfield and off-field success.

Some of you are funny.

Do you think you love United more than people that are seeing things and are not happy about it?

Because we rant we don't love united.

But you rant also, and no one calls you disgusting. You call out the Glazers who are an important part of the club and no one calls you names.

This is shameful behavior. A disgraceful behavior. Hypocritical behavior. An explanatory behavior without evidence.

Human beings are funny.
If you don't like something, stop patronizing it. You don't start protesting for the owner to sell his business just because he is poorly running it.
That is his business to run it how he wants. By the time no one patronizes him, he will understand.

But unfortunately we can't help ourselves, we must watch Man U by fire by force...but we don't like the owners, so we protest,.. come back and buy tickets to watch their match, then protest again, lol. undecided

We really need better for the team.

We can't be complaining every season.

Like twelve years since we played in a UCL final. Ten years since we won the league. When last did we enter UCL semis.

Na why I vex for that Mount purchase. You no get ambition?

I no dey support united to get just entertainment. City and other teams can give me that. I support the club for glory. That's all I can get from supporting. I'm not paid.

Shey na till person old and weak them go win UCL again?

How I go take run in jubilation with walking stick?
