Security Forces have been deployed by the Nigerian Railway Corporation throughout train stations on the Abuja-Kaduna rail corridor. The Security measure by NRC management is to thwart the plot to attack trains and motorists along the route.

Luxurious buses used to have 2 armed escorts on any trip till the criminals became bolder with more sophisticated guns and attacked as if it's war.

It is not just about securing the railway stations but securing the whole rail tracks is most important thing. Bandits will not attack the stations but the railtrack to have the train derailed for kidnapping to take place.

There are different modes and levels of security. A policeman without vest is only attached in situations of low or no threat.

It's a great measure.

Doesn't have to be uniformed security personnel, should have been undercover operatives, the sight of such heavily armed security officers will definitely make the passengers uneasy.
