This is what we want to hear. Not the 8k per family rubbish or #5bn per state nonsense.

In foresight, this should have being in progress first, before removing petrol subsidy.

Nigerians don't care if the fuel is imported or locally refined rather all we care about is affordability. Make una hold una local refinery scam to yourselves.
Fuel importation put pressure on the naira!

Na una go still blame government say dollar don rise to 1000.

Another scam. They can only continue to deceive their zombies.
How many of your own personal life projects have arrived on schedule and at scale? Does your road or estate association deliver projects on time? Do you deliver on your promises? When you live in a country full of contradictions it is hard to get things to work on time. I am sorry to say attitudes like yours that include criticising a government when it was one month into tenure are part of the contradictions of our society - wanting the best but doing nothing to make it happen.

You're not being realistic. Even babies in Nigeria knows refinery repairs have been gulping humongous amounts from our budget year after year without being fixed.

Anyone who is doubting them has a solid ground for that.

Let us give him a benefit of doubt before you start to criticize him
yinmu, they are all the same. All Promises Cancelled.

Government that cannot fulfil its promises on pallatives after removing subsidy cannot fix a refinery

I said "in a country of contradictions". I did not justify anyone. Please read what I wrote again. Did the marketers want the refinery to work? Did oil importers want the refinery to work? Did the oil unions themselves want the refinery to work? Finally, did the politicians whose hands were bring greased by the afore mentioned want the refineries to work?

It does not take intelligence to say Government is this or that. It does take intelligence to understand how vested interests work and encourage or oppose government into facing their demonic associates eho incidentally are the same people thst fund all the parties.

I am not ready to sacrifice my grey matter for short pithy criticisms that are meaningless in the scheme of things. That guy Racoon or whatever he calls himself is the master of simplistic thinking and that's why I picked on his comment.

No change comes without understanding vested interests and knowing which to coopt, which to resist and which to ignore. Government is not as powerful as people think. However, once we the people attack the vested interests surrounding government - we increase the positive % change of performance.

I dont get off my just coming here to hurl stones. This is an economic contribution not a political one. Sadly people like raccoon have made everything political.

FG to,
FG will,
Everything to this, to that.
There is no single place where you will see:
Fg has,
FG completed, etc.
This is exactly how Buhari did it for 8 years and couldn't complete any Federal highway and looted more than £10 billion.
Buhari made sure APC continued in governance so that we won't know that Abacha is his apprentice in looting.....

Only the medical facilitations on Buhari and his family has taken that £10 billion.....

If you talk ...is either you become a Terrorist or a wialer ..

Soon the looting of Buhari will be brought back from London bank's and used to develop Nigeria in 20years to come after APC has been flushed out of Power....lols

APC's Endless December. Buhari promised similarly.
APC is a most fraudulent political party.
Nigerians chased APC away from power in 2019 but election stealing keeps APC in power.

It doesn't mean fuel would be cheap

Because there is no subsidy anymore, the NNPC would have to search for money for repairs and maintenance of the refineries. And at the end of the day, all that costs money, and all that would be added to the cost paid by end consumers.

The potential good news is that the refineries would work this time. No subsidy, no free money. Anyone doing sabotage is affecting NNPC's ability to make
profits, and by extension, their salaries. Also, it would be cheaper to buy in Nigeria...than it would be importing from abroad with scarce forex.

But fuel would, as the experts say, cost just N70 less than the current price. It won't suddenly drop to N200 or below
The biggest good news is that it will reduce the pressure on Fx demand thereby strengthening our Naira .

Also the manufacturers can have better access to Fx to import raw materials to run their factories and this will in turn create more jobs and also increase our GDP.

Additionally , the supply chain sector will experience significant boom as a result of increased manufacturing activities.

There are many positive effects this can have on the economy generally if properly and sincerely pursued.

May God help Nigeria.

Stop speaking for FG. It doesn't look good on you. A serial liar can not be used as a witness in court because they lack credibility. FG has been lying to the people since time immemorial.

The audio experts should shut it. If importation stops with its attendant effect on naira value removed, fuel should sell nothing more than 250-300 max except our looters have started again.

The indices all show that the reason we have high fuel price is exchange rate and freight cost.

Local refining will remove that and I hope the civilian govt will not buy into the bullshit Babangida govt bought into that importation is cheaper than running refineries which killed our refineries.
