If you are not trading, perhaps, you can keep busy by doing some exercise or playing games on ya phone, just doing sth different.

I believe it is better to focus on solving these issues than calling it a psychology problem

Position sizing for eurusd and usdchf is simple,

You don't need a forex calculator for this...

If you have a $ 5k prop firm acct and you are trading eurusd....

With 1% risk, your risk is $50

Assume stop loss is 50 pips

FOR EURUSD, Lot size is. (Risk ÷ (no. Of pips* 10))

Check it with any forex calculator you see online. The result will be the same

In this case, that will be (50/500) and lot size would be 0.1

I wonder why infofirst winners never deliver since, and its because he was not strict on the lotsize rule since the beginning. I no blame d boss, its not my daddy's money. But if the boss want to see results on his investments, he has to go back to the plan from the first competition two yrs back.

Personally, winning the 10k account will give me serious joy cos to me it's not my account but an account for the FTA community here on nairaland and a way to be able to give back.

As to how long I can pass it, i can't really say because giving myself time to pass the account indirectly mounts pressure on me and then you begin to see things that were never there in the first place all because of a self imposed time limit. Could be different for others tho

At first, I felt you are harsh but your other posts align and I agree with you. We have to do better. The fact that our community is smaller means if all can be determined to minimize our risk. The prize will go round most of us in no time. Imagine the give away yesterday was among only 29 traders compare to most that might have up to 1000 traders trying to get 5slots.

I have tried to explain tire but my people are not getting it. The thinking in % is making some mess up. I will risk 1% per trade. For crying out loud. 1% per trade is a lot in prop firm world. With 1% per trade, you will mess an acct up once you hit SL 10times. A highly conservative trader like charly20 might be good with 1% per trade when he is likely to not trade more than four positions in a month compare to some one that will likely open 10 trades in a day.
I am an advocate of pips making than %.
One of the first message I learnt in baby pips then was to learn to make pips, keep pips and repeat the process over and over.

This same thing made me lose an account. In a simple definition "no trades should carry a floating loss greater than or equal to the daily drawdown ".
If you have a 10K account and 250 is the daily drawdown (-5%) ; "9750", your open trades must not let your equity drop to 9750.

The balance based drawdown is just a name for adjusting were your total loss can be for the day or the next day, don't read too much meaning to it. Many mods fail to explain it this way, I don't know if they like it when people blow an account.
