Hello Kweje,

If he can prove his employability in his country and have sufficient funds to swallow any incurred expenses for the duration of their stay and for future use, and can demonstrate the travel intent won't throw the family into indebtedness; applying for the SOWP route won't be an issue. The modern world has been structured to put family beyond financial gains, even if it is required to care for the family's well-being.

Best Wishes!
Thank you very much. Will inform them.

Good afternoon Everyone, I'm a silent reader here. I just got a request from IRCC to submit my passport. A big thanks to everyone and most especially Zubizareta for his help in regards to my SOP writtings and review.

Please I really need your help/Opinions about this. My 10yrs biometric is expiring June/July 2024 and my program is valid for two years study. And I have been asked to submit my passport to complete my application, my thoughts is that I don't know if I will still be giving the two years study visa since my Biometric will be expiring June/July 2024. If otherwise please what can I do to tackle this.

Thanks.

This seems to be a case of "looking for a reason to support intended denial" in my opinion. Sorry jare, some of these refusal reasons are frustrating

guys good morning, quick questions does using GIC avoid being asked about source of funds, just heard about GIC tryin to understand its Pros & Cons

There is a way you will use your SOP to word it, the source wouldn't be scrutinized much because you have demonstrated the availability of those funds by doing that GIC which is the primary aim and what Ircc is looking out for- to ensure the funds u showed aren't for demonstrative purposes but indeed available.
Be ready to put strong economic ties and explain with reasonable supporting docs for source of funds and reasons why such person sponsored/provided the funds in the case of sponsorship. But we have seen instances when some supporting docs were skipped in situations when GIC and Tuition was paid and PPR was granted.

Hi,

I also recently gained admission into contest oga for the personal support worker for May. Please I have a quick question, for January admission, what is the end date that is on the acceptance letter. Mine is December. I was thinking I could take a semester off in between to work but I think perhaps itā€™s because itā€™s May admission so I want to be sure if itā€™s the same for January admission. Kindly let me know. Thanks

Queenlyt:
Hello everyone.
I recently got accepted to Conestoga college for the Personal Support Worker program for January 2024.
I have a BSc in Biochemistry (2020) and I have basically been hustling since then, no concrete job or steady income flow on my bank statement. Intend to use my paternal uncle as sponsor. He is based in Lagos but his wife and kids are in Canada.
How do I explain this while applying for my Study permit please? Why I am going for a certificate course as a BSc holder and things I should do to prove strong home ties, I am not married.
I donā€™t know if the fact that I am currently doing a Certified Nursing assistant program here in Nigeria would help as well.
Please I really need any and all the information I can get so I donā€™t make any mistakes whatsoever. I want to begin the process ASAP
Thank you Iā€™m advance.

Hello Queenlyt,

Having so many loopholes for the officer to take advantage of will make justifying your genuine study intent tedious. If you intend to declare your ongoing study, do so as a training certification and pick a study in a PGD/C course. It will be easy to tell the officer of your career intention and why it is important to build on your practical training academically. Also, it will be best if your third-thirty sponsor liquidates your first-year study fees.

Best Wishes!

Hmmmm thank you so much for this!
So the best route is to forfeit this admission?
What if I donā€™t declare my ongoing study?
I didnā€™t mention it while applying to the schools I sent applications to.

I got my PPR this morning, I don't know if I can have my friend submit it for me (I'm told only authorized person alone). The journey from the East to Abj is very expensive.

A friend is about to make a family application(student+spouse+child). The spouse has a good job in Nigeria with an Intl company, is SOWP advisable or he just apply as a Visitor and flagpole in Canada.

They are concerned if the VO wont question why he is leaving his good job for uncertainty with SOWP.

How does he defend his SOWP if they decide on that route?
Please your inputs. Many thanks
U donā€™t need or have to defend SOWP. Itā€™s called Spouse Open Work Permit i.e For a spouse accompanying his/her spouse. U donā€™t have to prove why u going for it, u automatically qualify for it once ur spouse is going for studies majorly. And ur SOP should do justice to explaining why he is accompanying his/her spouse.
