codemaniacs:

It is dodgy. Ihenacho is not on form and is playing 2nd division football should never be invited.

I won't even argue about the fact that Iheanacho probably shouldn't have been included in the list, but Moffi still wouldn't have been the replacement. Kelechi isn't one of those Moffi is competing with as he doesn't play the no 9 role. His competitors are Osimhen, Boniface, Awoniyi and Orban. On current form he pales compared to these names.

For once I have no issues with an SE list. My guess is Zaidu and Iwobi are not fit. Zaidu is missing today for Porto. We know Iwobi’s situation. Unless I’m missing a name. This is a dead rubber game so any omission of a regular is excusable.

Koboko99:
List of invited players. No Musa or Shehu.
Zaidu Sanusi and Alex Iwobi are also missing

I agree with what you said. But I’m not critical of the list because we are testing players that DESERVE to be invited. Dead rubber, but players need to earn it. These are players pushing for a spot not players just coming for a mere formality match. I would have loved to see Yusuf and Nwakali. But they should be left to fight hard for a call up, dead rubber or not.

Nwamazi8:
A dead rubber game much less against Sao Tome (with due respect to Sao Tome) would have ideally been a perfect time to experiment with new players especially in that midfield, but here we are to another day of Ndidi, Aribo and Onyeka with the exception of Onyedika (who is a very welcome and much overdue invitation), but the frustratingly over-asked question remains- why the fu*k do we always have a thin-bare midfield? with no Iwobi where will the creativity come from? same old same old...and this is why I was very uncomfortable with the re-hiring of a donkey like Peseiro.

Even in attack we don't need Iheanacho and Moses Simon, I doubt Osimhen will honor the invitation cause I'm hearing he suffered a knock yesterday, Simon and Nacho are just needless, would have preferred trying for Nathan Tella. But I'm glad Boniface and Gift are finally in the mix.

Defence, Ekong and Ajayi are absolutely not needed, glad to see Ebuehi back, Jamiu Collins? not sure about that one tbh, was never impressed by the lad.

Overall the same consistent and recurring problems still exist even with the encouraging invitations of Jordan Torunarigha, Onyedika, Gift and Boniface etc

Which fighting are the likes of Yusuf and Nwakali not doing right compared to Aribo and Ndidi? Yusuf is almost a regular for the Belgian champions Antwerp,Nwakali has been consistently playing well in Portugal...what other fighting can they fight? abi make dem use armored tank before they earn a call up?

I like how my question remains unanswered about a flat midfield completely devoid of creativity.

Naturally, they are not suppose to get anything. The club owns the asset (player) and then sells it. The person that actually gets a percentage of the transfer fee is the agent.

Now here is where the twist comes and I first noticed it from Kia Joorabchian, Tevez agent. If the agent wants to keep a high profile talent, he negotiates with the player to share transfer fees.

That was why Tevez made a financial killing in the business. Now we have agents even negotiating high agent fees and sometimes get to keep like 5-8% of the transfer fees with a section going to the player.

However, I have not heard of a direct clause of transfer fee going to the player.
Osimhen na real crook. Na why he appoint im brother in kaw as agent one time Luke that WY that one too dey form.

If everyone plays well and leaves up to potential this is probably 90% of our squad to AFCON.

Goalkeeping position still has one spot or two sef still open.

Aina and Ebuehi to battle for second RB spot, Bruno and Collins for second LB position. Let's see how our latest CB invitee performs.

Iwobi to join midfield. Maybe room for one more.

Attack looks ok to me with a potential for one of the strikers to drop in favour of most likely Moffi if he gets back to form.

Marjoribanks:
This list shows a well thought out plan and that Paserio is fully in charge. With this list I can easily predict the 26 man AFCON list
LB: Sanusi and (Bruno/Collins).
RB: Osayi and (Aina/Ebuehi)
Injured; Ogbu, Akpoguma and Iwobi.

Midfielders: Onyeka, Onyedika, Ndidi, Aribo and Iwobi will be the AFCON five man midfield!

Moffi literally just scored a beauty of a goal today, it's inexcusable having Iheanacho who has been useless at championship level for Leicester over him.

Midfield is absolutely bereft of any tinge of attacking flair, all invitees are #6's and #8's, Goodluck finding that final intelligent pass to scythe open a teams packed bus defence if Iwobi isn't playing or out of form...ahead of AFCON squad, there must be a ferocious campaign by fans for the immediate inclusion of more midfielders.

Defence looks decent BUT Ekong and Ajayi weren't needed for a game like this.

the list was decided ages ago na. Iheanacho is not moffi's competition. Moffi has had a rough patch this season so his exclusion is justified and besides how many strikers do you want jpes to pick just for one game.

Osayi has been our best defender in the last few games

To be fair we have a major tournament coming up in 5 months time with only two international windows including this one we're entering available to assess players. So experimentation will be limited except in areas we have a pressing need. Admittedly midfield is a pressing need that needs addressing so Yusuf and Nwakali if they they keep playing consistently will I think get eventually invited if not for the qualifiers at least for the final afcon camp.

Iheanacho when in form has proven himself in the SE. After Osimhen he's the next striker with the most goals hence the benefit of doubt the team selectors and handlers are giving him.

That is not to say he's undroppable as Nigeria has prosecuted tournaments without him and the didn't struggle with much. I admit his position is under serious threat and will be a under pressure to show his worth especially when the WC qualifiers get under way.

Kelechi Nwakali put in a good shift today when you consider how many of his team mates performed.

He was one of the few players that looked quality in his side.

His heat map shows dynamism too. 97 touches when his team did not play a good passing game is nice.
