Read animal, read. Awolowo was imprisoned for treason by akintola and tafa balewa, the coup plotter saw it as an insult and decided to revolt against the corrupt politicians. If not for the treasonous act by awolowo there would have been no coup.

You are not smart. If you were smart you’d know Awolowo was a federal prisoner. This means he is under control of the head of state. Gowon became head of state August 1 1966, Awolowo was released on August 3rd 1966. Regional leaders cannot release federal prisoners.
