You and your Ojukwu alongside everything breathing in your yeast are pathological liars.

If Ojukwu had the powers to grant Awo a pardon why then was Awo driven straight from Calabar prison to Dodan Barracks , Lagos to meet with Gowon?

There is an official gazette of Gowon granting Awolowo his freedom.

Can you publish any document showing Ojukwu gave the order to have Awo released ?

Anyone can write anything in the official gazette, it doesn't make it true.

How to know who released Awolowo is to check the timeline. Awolowo was released around on 4th August 1966. Ironsi was killed on 29th July. For the next few days after Ironsi's death, Brigadier Ogundipe kept sending Gowon to negotiate with the leaders of the coup in Ikeja barraks until Ogundipe himself ran away. That was when Gowon took over

So it is impossible for Gowon to have released Awolowo the very day Gowon was taking over, and from a Region that did not yet recognise Gowon as head of State

The only person that had the power to release Awolowo on 4th August 1966 was Ojukwu

Only a complete fool would believe that after a coup that killed Ironsi, Gowon, or any Northern officer fir that matter, would have ventured into the Eastern Region to release Awolowo

Calabar Prison was a Federal Prison the Wardens were loyal to Gowon
Also Ojukwu was still hiding from the irate Hausa Soldiers in the Enugu Battalion
It was after Baba Lt Colonel Ogunewe negotiated peace with them that Ojukwu came out of hiding

Where is Common sense in what claims
Oga, stop arguing with these liars.
If Gowon could release Awolowo in Calabar, then Ojukwu would have not been in a position to fight the Nigerian state. It is as simple as that.
Awolowo is the prototype of all Yorubas so I'm not surprised
I'm just shocked that those Igbo officers saw a snaky human being as a hero. From Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna and Ojukwu, they all loved him.

Lol, this is fake

Sorry bro but it was 1966, they didnt have the equipment to print anything this clearly. This almost looks like it was printed by lazer jet printer.

When you see something printed in 1966, you will know.

Ironsi was killed in July 29th 1966, for the next few days, Nigeria had no President. Even Gowon was briefly detained at Ikeja barraks

So at what time did Gowon take over, consolidate his power to releasing Awolowo from the Eastern Region within 3 days of Ironsis death? Many people didnt even know Ironsi was dead

The only person who had the power to release Awolowo in early August 1966 was Ojukwu, nobody knew Gowon

Regardless of one's leanings in the Ojukwu vs. Gowon Awolowo release debate, the median acceptable constant here is that Awo was in prison, a prisoner. Why was he in prison?

Like the man in the Aso Villa, who was also convicted of a crime (though he treacherously avoided jail time), Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the Yoruba demigod from Ikenne, southwest Nigeria, was a convict.

He was sentenced to 3 terms of imprisonment under Tafawa Balewa's government for conspiring with the Ghanaian authorities to overthrow the federal government. And he died a convict.

That the Yoruba chose to glorify a convicted felon is beyond the comprehension of any sane mind.

What would we hear today if Ojukwu had been thrown into the gulag for embezzlement, conspiracy and treason?. We for drink water drop cup like this.

Helinues would have published books and released serialized YouTube videos here and elsewhere.

So, what lesson can we learn from all of this? Our leaders across all our national divides are, for the most part, dishonorable, selfish, and corrupt individuals.

This wholesome knowledge makes a criminal mockery of those of us who are actually endowed with this knowledge but continue to collaborate with these societal misfits who are usually not worth the MR or MRS attached to their names.

This is the time for Nigerians to have a rethink, an AHA moment if you will.

Failing that, na una go still explain tire give una grand children.

Destroying Age Old Myths About The Nigerian Civil War

Myth 2: Ojukwu released Awolowo from prison

After his release by the Gowon-led Federal Military on August 2, 1966 (the release took effect the next day), the new Military Head of State, Lt Colonel Yakubu Gowon, officially pardoned Chief Obafemi Awolowo on August 12, 1966.

I hope this finally puts paid to the propaganda by Radio Biafra that the then Military Governor of the Eastern Region, Lt Colonel Emeka Ojukwu, released Chief Awolowo.

Cannibal, Awo was convicted by a federal high court .

Illiterate, his offence bothered on treason and only the federal Attorney-General can prosecute such a case.

Iliterate.

Awolowo was sentenced to prison for treason by akintola and his northern masters who were majorly targeted by the coup plotters.

Those that sentenced awolowo to prison were dead after the coup.

The only mistake Ojukwu made was not eliminating awolowo and the remaining zoo soldiers in the East that's why you guys have the guts to spew trash. Ojukwu, being Igbo and knowing the value of life spared the lives of nigerian soldiers and that of awolowo the traitor only for the animals from the zoo called nigeria to attack innocent Biafrans who were returning back to Biafra.

I don't expect an animal to reason like a human being

Where is the official pardon signed by Ojukwu ?

There is a gazzetted order of pardon signed by Gowon that states that Gowon and not Ojukwu released Awolowo.

You people should stop your stupid lies.
Hate which occupied your heart and mind will easily becloud sound reasoning. Aguiyi-Ironsi wasn't declared dead at the time Awolowo was released and Ojukwu will always ask Gowon the whereabout of him.
Ojukwu never accepted Gowon as his superior and never took orders from him. Nothing would function in the East without Ojukwu's approval. That alone will let you know who released Awolowo.

Was gowon recognized in Biafra where awolowo was imprisoned

Did Ojukwu allowed nigerian soldiers to leave Biafra without any confrontation

Answer this two question and you will see what you're avoiding. If Ojuwkwu was as blood thirsty like the nigerian people awolowo wouldn't have made it alive

Ironsi's removal was not done in quiet.

The northern mutineers also targeted Ibo officers and men in their barracks.

Ironsi's removal and death was known worldwide on the same day it occured.
