Like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi rejects tribunal judgement, heads to Supreme Court

Obi said this on Thursday at a press conference in Onitsha, Anambra State.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l844cACrCUg

Yesterday, 6 September 2023, the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) finally delivered its long-awaited judgments on the Petitions challenging the outcome of the presidential election held on 25 February 2023. This judgment was delivered within the statutory time frame under the extant statutes. We acknowledge the Court’s contributions to due process and the seeming attempt to strengthen our democracy.

As petitioners in this case, we respect the views and rulings of the Court, but we disagree with the Court’s reasoning and conclusions in the judgment it delivered. It is my intention as a presidential candidate and the intention of the Labour Party to challenge this judgment by way of appeal immediately, as allowed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The PEPC has rendered its judgment, but that esteemed body is not the final arbiter. The responsibility now falls on the Supreme Court. I do know that judgment is not coterminous with justice. I implore Nigerians to remain focused, steadfast, and peaceful; abide by the rule of law, and understand that this matter has not reached its logical conclusion.

Our legal team has already received our firm instruction to file an appeal against the decision. I shall not relent in the quest for justice, not necessarily for myself but indeed for our teeming supporters all over the country whose mandate to us at the polls was regrettably truncated by INEC.

The strength and value of our democracy reside in solid national institutions and our confidence in them. Electoral litigations will be almost unnecessary and nonexistent if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) discharges its statutory functions creditably, transparently, and with discernible fairness. When that body fails, as it did recently, thus subverting the will of Nigerian voters, the recourse to the judiciary becomes imperative, as is now the case.

I thank every Nigerian who has supported our cause and campaign for a New Nigeria characterized by fairness, equity, justice, the rule of law, peace, prosperity, inclusiveness, sustainable growth, and development. A New Nigeria is possible and achievable. I especially thank our legal team, the Labour Party and Obidient Family, and all those who showed up daily during the court trials. God bless you all, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The embezzled donors' money is available to him for squandering.
The lying machine-HoeBee can never become Nigerian President.
When they were supposed to be campaigning, they kept constituting nuisance on the cyber space, erroneously thinking that online brigandage would yield them favorable results.

They expended all their resources on campaign of calumny; e.g All Eyes On The Ju IDI ciary now they've been disgraced at the Presidential Election Petitions Court. May we not labor in vain.

If you're looking to clinch Nigerian Presidency, learn from President Tinubu. You build bridges accros the 774 LGAs of Nigeria instead of foolishly relying on brigandage.

I dedicate β€œTelli Person” by Timaya feat. Phyno & Olamide to them.
Great jam!

Not a wise move PO. You have done your best. We that supported you too have fought the good fight and can say we tried. Let Nigeria and Nigerians deal with the monsters they have made. You will achieve absolutely nothing at the supreme court.

It's a simple stuff, you no join dabaru the country, let those who dabarued it continue to dabaru it or at least be on the hot seat to fix their mess. No be you wey no know anything about the gargantuan mess they have made, should now be fighting tooth and nail to be in the line of fire, for who or what...Nigerians? Abiola wey do aluta continua for Nigerians sake was killed like a chicken. No heads rolled! Anyone who has his ear should tell him not to waste any more time or resources on this venture.

Lets assume it went the other way, there would have been protests and violence in some parts of the country engineered by the druggie and his foot soldiers. But rather there's peace.

The appeal court have always been in the pocket of the Executive. The way they dismissed all evidence showed they were not ready for any other outcome than to do the bidding of the people in power. The worst was when they dismissed EU report on the ground that it was not submitted by a particular person. The judges were ready to pick holes in every evidence presented. Hopefully the Supreme Court does a thorough job that would give Nigerians hope in the Judiciary and not just picking holes and looking for technicality to dismiss every evidence presented in court.

Let him do his shit... Obi knows he might not get justice at the courts but he's determined to go all the way in, that should count for something... This our attitude of giving up with it gets tough shouldn't be encouraged at all.... In years to come we all will see the importance of these steps he's taking... He has my full support, win or lose

Every Nigerian has a right to seek redress in a court of competent jurisdiction. If Obi so wishes, let him go ahead.

If you want laugh, deride, or redicule him. Man has a chance, however small it looks.

If the Supreme Court shuts him down, then so be it. Until then, don't say he's wasting money. Make yours and waste it.

That's my president not a yeye Bulabalu.

Yesterday, they were saying Obi was wasting the time of the court. People who supported that useless Buhari who's supporters after killing about 800 people in the 2011 election still went to court had the effrotery to dey talk about a Man who has taken his strides within the ambit of the Law and hasn't called for any violence or anarchy

The CPC even said the corp members killed in post election violence then were IT guys of the PDP.

https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/113299-some-nysc-members-killed-in-bauchi-were-pdps-it-consultants-cpc-spokesman-fasakin.html?tztc=1

Imagine that. Yet supporters of Buhari, people who supported Buhari for 8years that metarphosed into supporters of Tinubu had the right to question the legal and peaceful way of a candidate.

You will never see them condeming Oluomo telling legitimate voters not to come out and vote. Never, ever, you won't see them.

You won't see them condeming the actual violence meted out to voters. It is only online comments they will claim it's worst.

People who just yesterday called Jonathan, his wife, and his entire family lots of unprintable names will be claiming victim

The Hypocrisy .. grin grin grin
