But Nnamdi Kanu was offered the 5 Igbo states to form his Biafra in 2017, when he was in prison, and he refused, saying he must have Rivers state and even Benue!

“Why I Rejected 5 Igbo States for Biafra”, by Nnamdi Kanu

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/07/rejected-biafra-5-igbo-states-nnamdi-kanu/amp/

SO AS YOU CAN SEE, NIGERIA HAS NO PROBLEM WITH IGBOS LEAVING, CONTRARY TO YOUR LIES.

Nnamdi Kanu is one man, there are over 45 million Igbos, why offer such a thing to one man if not mischief? You offer something meant for over 40 million people, to one single person! How stupid!

If the Nigerian government are serious let them announce referendum date in all 5 Igbo states. Not to call Kanu and be making offer to a single individual

The presidency is not handed on a plate. You have to build bridges across the country and get tens of millions of people outside your ethnic group to TRUST YOU to wield power over them.

The Igbos do the exact opposite of this. Trashing the country at every turn. Rejoicing when bad news hits the country. Dismissing positive news about it.

How in the hell do you expect Nigerians to troop out en masse to vote for you with that attitude?

Some persons who were genuine PO supporters are rethinkin that decision.

Hope you are leaving without the igalas in Anambra and Enugu states.
Hope Yorubas will go with Yorubas in Delta state and Edo state.

Igalas of Anambra are less than 0.5 of the population of Anambra, and they will have the opportunity to remain with Nigeria during referendum

I fear an Igbo presidency. With each passing day, and with each anti-Nigerian comment I read on social media, of which 98% are from Igbos, the more I fear, and the more my soul rejects an Igbo presidency.

I reckon they lack the patriotism to be trusted with power over this federation, and could use that power, if granted them, to sabotage the country, leading to its disintegration.

We can’t afford to take that chance in my view.

I can imagine the ruling classes also see this trajectory of deep Igbo unpatriotism, and are equally taking notes on the need to prevent their presidency anytime soon.

you are denying them presidency, always pointing fingers at their past, always marginalizing them in many things still you don’t want them to go. Why ??

I’m a middle belter but enough is enough, Nigeria need to divide into 5 and it will happen one day in life.
As long as South Sudan pathed ways, Slovakia and Czech and so many examples to mention. They all go separate ways via memorandum so Nigeria will some day divide.

Igalas in Anambra state are 2% and that is where the crude oil is.What about the igalas in Enugu state? What of if the Yorubas are clamouring to leave with their kith and kin in Delta and Edo states?
Even at that, igbo political leaders are to champion it at the national assembly that they want to leave..Its achievable..Peter Obi being the number one politician and Obi of Onitsha being the number 1 traditional ruler in the south east can talk to notable igbo men to key into the project.

Who denied them presidency?

You started your post with a fat lie.

They denied themselves and continue to deny themselves the presidency by their hateful relationship to Nigeria.

They call us “zoo animals in a failed country”, and constantly attack and ridicule our nation online, and you expect us to line up in the hot sun in our tens of millions to vote for them?

Think again.

Well said.

I don't even get their insane logic, you say you love Nigeria and you are the most qualified to rule and save Nigeria, but you cannot wait to show and tell us how much you hate Nigeria and Nigerians outside your ethnic borders, you rubbish Nigeria every second of the day, you don't wish Nigeria well and all you love and rejoice in is negative news about Nigeria.

National sit-at-home?

Even me I didn’t remember that one.

The leader might turn Biafran midway through his presidency and start ordering national sit-at-home.

He might invite Simon Ekpa from Finland to be his special advisor on lefelendum matters, or even defence minister.

Absolutely. Most of them hate Nigeria with a passion.

You need to go on YouTube and see how these people trash Nigeria on a daily basis. Even in videos that don’t concern Nigeria.

It’s actually alarming.

I couldn’t possibly vote for one of them.

A few years ago, before their mad hate started, perhaps.

But today?

No way bro. I don’t trust them one bit.

Nigeria is not exactly paradise, so one fails to understand you people's morbid fear of separation. If we separate, everyone would mind their business and develop at their pace. What's so bad about that? It'll be better than making mockery of ourselves on the international scene like we currently do.

The trouble with Biafra is that you are looking to seize the south-south non Igbo territories because of their oil and gas resources.

If you just seceded with your 5 Igbo states alone, no one would stop you.
Imo has the highest gas reserve in West Africa, but your foolishness won't let you see that

SE is a oil producing region, but maybe you didn't know that

Igbo President cannot be worse than Fulani President. We saw an example during Jonathan reign. Everything for them: our oil our money anyway we want.

Yoruba would attack their own President if he becomes so parochial as Fulani or Igbo.

Moreover, Nigeria has been hijacked like Royal Niger Trading company to loot the hell out of it. Look at how contracts were inflated during Buhari and Jonathan era without any balance and check.

Igbo President cannot do worse.

Just think about the last three Presidential candidates and understand Nigeria is for sale!

There are actually reasons to be scared of Igbo presidency.

The first coup in Nigeria was perpetrated by them and they killed army officers of other tribes while no Igbo officer was killed. History is there for the taking.

If only it is possible, they should allow them to go but the Igbos themselves should not force Biafra on the south south region if they don't wish to be part of Biafra.

Am not regular on nairaland but I am pushed to reply sir, the person who lead the first coup in Nigeria is he from south south or south east, to me in ranking south south is the first Biafran before the south east, secondly do u know that it's only in 2023 that south east only voted for Igbo person, I know u have ur record, no Igbo man is actually after all that, the only issue Igbos have is that they refuse to accept a failing country, let me be sincere to you, if Nigeria is working no one send the so called Biafra, my only problem is that you guys keep pushing Nigeria backward by electing bad leaders because of triabalism, even though the said person will not be of any advantage to u or ur tribe, Nigeria can be great if u learn from Igbos and love them, they have key to Nigeria greatness, quote me anywhere

Those gas reserves are useless without billions of dollars of prior investment in gas evacuation infrastructure. The oil and gas fields of the south south are well established and need no further investment to make money, which is why you are so desperate to acquire them to the point of hating Nigeria for blocking you. Plus the SE oil production is less than 1% of Nigerian oil, so don’t go there.

You are worthless to every Nigerian, and invaders of their lands in your unwanted millions. You would surely starve in your millions if we decided to drive you all back to your wretched homeland you fled from.

I thought you're smart but alas I was wrong. Abia and Imo state are currently oil producing states, Anambra too has oil...Enugu state is sitting on a very large gas reserves...don't take my words for it...do some research and this brings me to my question, what exactly are you guys scared of? All you unity beggars are simply jealous and envious of what will become the Igbo nation should they secede.

Igbos care less about Niger Delta so shush with the narrative of their oil. They should worry about their devastated lands.
