For those who have successfully arrived in the UK, pls kindly share your point of entry experience to help others prepare before hand. Like what questions was asked, documents required, etc.

Thanks and God bless.

Different experiences. Depends on the immigration officer. When I arrived few weeks ago on visit visa, I was only asked why we came and I said vacation and he asked if I have a return ticket and I said yes. Pulled out my phone and showed him the return ticket and that was it.
I think they’d usually ask why you’re there and where you’d stay or return ticket.

Visa alert

My Wife visa was approved, she collected her passport yesterday

Did her biometric on the 17th of August at ikeja
Collection email on the 8th of September

I filled the application and did everything for her, i was skeptical about the application at first because there were large deposits in her account from July which form the majority of the fund in her statement and which does not in any way correlate with her salary but I had to explain the source in the cover letter, and she was only able to get July payslip from her work, so we only summited one payslip.

Thank you guys

Dear Ashirioluwa, Thank you for your replies it has been helpful.

I'm stuck at the consent part, At any point in the application aside "Parent information " Does my parent need to still give her consent?. My mum is alive but my dad is late

Thanks for your continued assistance.
If you are the legal guardian, then I don't think you need any letters from anyone because, as the legal guardian, you have custody of the child and the authority to make decisions concerning the child's protection, care, education, etc.

Also, if you like, you can get a consent letter from the non-custodial parents of the child.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Ashirioluwa: 12:50am On Sep 12, 2023
@Ghaneeyah4me

As the legal guardian, you can write the consent letter.

Fill out and include the ''child visitors form''

I sent you an email.

250k salary won’t work? That doesn’t sound true. I earn less than 170k monthly after tax in a government ministry and have been using that to get my visas and I never add any other source of income or sponsorship. Also note that the year I started this job, my salary was 75k and I still used it to get a successful Uk visa application.
I guess it’s because of the lodgments in his account.
You have travel history!!! Not only to the UK.
You also by going and returning the very first visa proved a point to them. They would rather take a chance on such individual than another.
You also hve been working in one organisation, a government one for years, this counts alot. Shows job factor.
You have shown you do not want to flout UK immigration rules or the rules of those with similar immigration style. Things have changed. The year you got your first UK visa, yes 250k salary will work THEN as a standalone point. We know because people started with 100k salary then.
This person can not sponsor his trip, said his company is sponsoring him for conference… if anything goes wrong he has no clear financial standing to salvage the situation and would recourse to public funds. Also maybe he started working only few months ago, why is his company sponsoring him for conference? Did he show proof of the reason why this and if also they have sponsored others in the past?
He has no immigration history to further show he can be trusted.
To worsen the matter, large deposits littered his account, I wouldn’t take a chance on this person seeing as alot of visitors are refusing to go back. Like a lot.

Hello

Thanks to all the input from so many people on this thread. I have a bit of a weird or not so weird one, I am currently in the UK with my wife and kids on a student visa, I want to invite my mum for a visit but a bit confused.

Background I came on this year on a student visa with 2 kids, I work part time as I am schooling, and my wife works full-time. I also have a brother who is schooling in the UK with graduation in November.
We want our mum to come for his graduation and then also visit her grandkids.

The issue we are having is who should apply? My brother that is graduating, he can get a letter of invitation from the school but his income won't be sufficient to cover her expenses. Or should I apply since my wife and I have combined good income and her grandkids are here.
On another note I was thinking if we should combine the reasons for her visit, provide graduate invitation from school and then my wife and I who would sponsor the trip due to our combined income, should also do a letter inviting her to visit grandkids. Would that be an overkill?

My mum is currently a pensioner but wouldn't be able to sponsor the trip on her own.
I would like the wise counsel of you all. Thank you @Ashirioluwa @giselle237

Based on the funding issue, I think you are in a better position to invite her. If you like, you can mention in your letter that while she is in the UK with you, she will use that opportunity to attend your brother's graduation.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by vera202(m): 8:52am On Sep 12, 2023
Please can someone advice me on how to go about this. I intend applying for a visit visa and I will be sponsoring myself. I intend to use my savings account as proof of fund but some of my customers normally make payment to my savings instead of my coperate account.
Do I need to stop them from doing it?.

Thank you for your response, does this mean I won't need the graduation invitation letter from my brothers school?

Hello everyone,
I used my email address for i and my 2 months old son Uk application, I booked an appointment for biometrics last night for both of us but noticed that a payment confirmation wasn’t sent to the mail in my name but got for him.
We both have an account on TLS with our individual visa application number.
Please is there something am not doing write?
Will it affect our biometrics especially me.
Am yet to get a response from TLS and my biometric is tomorrow.
I don’t have a payment confirmation mail.

If you will mention your brother's graduation in the application, then you can add it.

The point of not using an agent is to do it yourself.
The guidance you want is in what you study and read here. No shortcuts.
Study and read this thread. From the beginning page 1 to current page. It will only cost you time not money

The form will ask if she has relatives in the UK, let her add your brother as well.

Then she'll add under reasons for the trip visiting you her grandkids and your brothers graduation.

You'd still be the primary person providing invitation

It’s the regular biometric, did it early hours of Thursday for myself, son and mum.
Used the same mail for my son and I , my mum has her separate mail.
Got payment confirmation for both them, then sent a mail on Friday and they are yet to get back to me .
Infact , I got an appointment reminder mail for all of us on Sunday, just wondering why I didn’t receive the appointment confirmation mail.

Have any one come late for biometrics, like an hour late. Is there any hope of getting it done today.. they are saying we should go and reshedule? Has anyone experienced this?

My fiance visit visa was approved on Friday and he picked up today, exactly 11 days after biometrics.
I am currently on a tier 4 visa and I did all his application.
I don’t know if this will help anyone but he has never been outside Nigeria before, infact it’s a virgin passport.
WHAT WE DID DIFFERENTLY.
1. I added a 3 paged cover letter explaining his source of fund and why he won’t overstay his visa.
2. I added our chats from 2022
3. I added all his work contract and his ig page
4. I added all my document as well including brp and statement of account.
5. I wrote an invitation letter detailing why he won’t overstay and how I will be responsible for his exit after his time here elapses.

But the application wasn’t without flaw
1. I forgot to add house contract
2. I added his CAC which wasn’t active
3.I added 2 and half month bank statement.
4. He has never travelled before.

Visa approval or rejection is based on individuality and now i understand convincing the VO always go a long way when deciding cases.

I am the happiest person today.

Hi house,

I am super excited to find this thread and I have learnt a lot going through few of the contributions from recent months.

My question is this:

I got a CoS for Care Worker on the 1st September, 2023 which has a resumption date of 15th October 2023. I also got an Immigration lawyer in the U.K that did the visa application and sent me tls appointment and document check list like 3 pages that has a place I will sign on to take along for biometric.

I am done with biometric today.

What should I ask from him again? Hope I will get my visa?

Just a curious man. I'm tired of this country.

Thank you.

I just tracked the visitor visa application I completed for my sister-in-law and the tracker is showing this, I wonder if one can tell if it’s good news. Fingers crossed!

For anyone looking for short let or Airbnb in northwest, there is a very nice home in the town around Chester (easy access for Liverpool, Manchester, Salford and North Wales). Also great for visitors due to proximity to UK's largest designer shopping outlet. Inbox me if you need details.
