Based on what? At 24 years, Oshimen has been nominated for Ballor something Yekini couldn't even get in his entire career!
I watched Yekini's game live. Do you know the number of chances Yekini missed at AFCON 1994 semis and finals and the World Cup?
We could have easily lost AFCON 94 semis to the Ivorians if not for Ben Iruoha spectacular goal.
Yekini's greatest period was 93/94 yet he had just one world cup goal and missed sitters when it mattered most.

What did Yekini achieved for Nigeria? No AFCON final winning goal. So?
Oshimen will score 100 goals for Nigeria. You all can ... You all keep disrespecting him and it is becoming nauseating!
You are missing something. We are taking the totality of Rashidi's career in the SE and comparing it with Osimhen and we say Rashidi is up there. For God's sake we are even talking of Osimhen breaking Rashidi's record but you just want to argue.

Its not that we don't get your argument which is comparing Yekini at 24 with Osimhen at 24. But that is not the basis of the argument. Did Rashidi score 37 goals at 24? No. So that's why nobody is arguing that point with you.

Osimhen is yet to break Rashidi's argument. He never even near as he's 17 goals away from the mark. That alone shows that Rashidi is the top dog. Finito

Oga Kog oo! I am just being emphatic nothing more, Egbon! What I meant is that our boys will still play for their club this coming weekend, even one has a match friday night. Had it been Sao Tome game was played on Thursday they could have time to rest and play a friendly on Tuesday before flying to their clubs. No team that played this Sunday is playing a friendly this week. Only those teams that played Thursday/friday are playing friendlies today/tommorow.
I watched Germany Japan on 9th and still playing France today and some countries too

Why should you be comparing Yekini's total career to that of Oshimen in the first place? If your eyes are wide open you could see some post stating that Oshimen only scores against weak African opposition. That post made me react. Nothing concern me with Yekini cos his goals won nothing for Nigeria. Yes he is good but certaining overhyped! Ciao

Victor Ikpeba was an Olympic Gold medalist. Couldn't feature at the 1996 and 1998 AFCONs due to Abacha's decision and corresponding CAF ban. 2000 AFCON could have been his time but he wrongly adjudged himself to have missed a penalty when he scored. He was 1997 APOTY. Despite Nigeria's absence from those two consecutive AFCONs and being on the bench for Yekini in 1994 I will say he is among Nigeria's successful players.
That's true, Abacha affected Ikpeba with the SE too. Okay so based on honors with a team that means Patrick Mboma and Efan Ekoku were more successful footballers than Drogba and Emmanuel Adebayor because Mboma and Drogba won national laurels with their national teams, right?

Why dem Yekini no beat Ghana for AFCON 1992 Semis? Imagine Ghana not having Partey and Kudus in midfiled during that match. I hate when people are economical with the truth. Ndidi and Iwobi unavailability cost us that game coupled with Bonke and Onyeka's injury during the game. Yet we didn't lose the game. No team will get a draw from us with that much injured midfielders!
That Ghana team.had the best player ever from.Ghana, Abedi Pele, one of the best strikers from Africa ,Tony Yeboah and a solid leader in Tony Baffoe as well. Sir, Osimhen is a blessing, gift to us and a generational talent however, please give Rashidi his flowers, he is a national legend.

My point remains! They should stop disrespecting Oshimen cos their legend Yekini did not do much! Simple!

Bro , you’re just making excuses for the NFF. What if they fixed the game against São Tomé on Sunday because there wasn’t any planned friendly, we could have played the game on Saturday and play a friendly game today if something was organized .

CAF fixes matches not NFF. Please be inform. The same NFF did when we played on Thursday few months back. Not doing it this time has a reason and we as fans need to learn to show understanding.

Before 2026WC, we will have an improved midfied and defense. The defense is already taking shape.

Between 2024 and 2025 Eletu, Daka, Akin and others will have been blooded in.

Na talk be this? So since Kanu did not score in the finals of Atlanta 96 match, his goals in the tournament should be discarded? Or because Maradona did not score in the finals of the 86 WC, one can then argue that his goals won nothing for Argentina.

Rashidi's goals were pivotal to our Afcon 94 win.

He certainly is not overhyped. His record stands unbroken for over 25 years now. That record as in who can break it is the basis of this conversation.

I think the boy is good enough to be in the mix

Training with super eagles players will aid his graduation to men’s football easily and faster.

A player like Mikel started off in the super eagles at the same age while playing in Norway for Lyn Oslo

I believe latest next summer he should be in inter’s first team or at worst out on loan to a mid table serie A club or serie B club
