From now on, I hereby name Victor Osimhen x Victor Boniface The Nigerian V-square (V²) 😁🥶🔥

V² wey dey give steady joy! Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen go maaad today 🥶

Friendly tip: Any striker whose hair is tinted blonde at the top and their name is Victor, fear them 😁

Going forward, I think a front two of Boniface and Osimhen is our best combo. Boniface is more creative, drops back, good at ball carrying, etc. which complements a striker like Osimhen. Awoniyi and Osimhen are two similar - target men who pin CBs back and want to run between the lines, so both will keep running into the same half spaces like we saw in the first half against Sao Tome.

Boniface is more dynamic and also has good passing and dribbling in his locker. I might even advise playing him on the right wing, he played there a lot for USG and is in better form than Lookman. He also plays there for Leverkusen when Hlozek comes on.

Overall, I think we've gotten our front two combo because Nacho is too static despite his amazing passing and creativity to play in that front two.

Ejide unimpressive showing in friendlies toward 2002 WC gave Enyeama invitation and he stole number two position with a friendly against Kenya….yes Berti Vogts preferred him but we all knew it was wrong decision and we saw Enyeama reclaimed his shirt and did well in 2010 and 2014 WC.
Sir I won't call it a wrong decision it was Berti vogts preference, he loves his goalkeepers tall. And I can't remember any game ejide was poor safe for one game he caught the ball and drop it inside the post which the ref disallow. I'll likened enyeama-ejide situation to Buffon and Toldo of Italy, two good keepers but one was better.

Manager Marco Silva has confirmed that Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi is in contention to make his Fulham debut when his side welcome Luton Town on matchday five of the Premier League at Craven Cottage tomorrow.

Iwobi joined the Cottagers on the final day of the just concluded transfer window from Everton but was missing when his new side got battered 5-1 by defending champions Manchester City just before the international break.

He picked up a hamstring injury when his former club Everton lost 4-0 to Aston Villa on match day two of the Premier League and that made him miss the AFCON qualifier against São Tomé and Príncipe.

As earlier reported, the 27-year-old trained fully with his Fulham teammates on Thursday and his return to fitness has now been confirmed by his new manager.

Silva in his pre-match conference ahead of his side's encounter with Luton Town gave an update on the state of the Hale End product and other members of the squad.

In quotes relayed by Fulham's official website, Silva said: Alex Iwobi is going to be involved in the squad list. He came injured when he signed with us, but since the start of this week he's been involved in the squad list."

Silva added that he will be without Tosin’s services for the next six or seven weeks.

The central defender's proposed move to French Ligue 1 club Monaco fell through on deadline day because Fulham could not sign a replacement at short notice.

Tosin has played just one minute of Premier League football in the new season amid speculation surrounding his future.

Iwobi has made two appearances in the Premier League already and will be looking to make his debut for Fulham in tomorrow's encounter.

@bolded and the rest... You have stated in a nutshell a Mentality I forged when I began my football followership journey years ago as a little boy.

It's not hard really to be a Naija football fan. This was always the way and still the best way. Reason why keeping up with our players is always a thing of Joy for me.

Some or several are still just realising this.

Kudos.

It was easier for me because I grew up watching and hearing more about Okocha and Kanu in the early 2000s as a kid. No one had time for club football since we could hardly see one. When I was a kid, I could go on a hunger strike just because the Super Eagles lost a match. Our loss in the shootout against Tunisia in 2004 was one of such.

Red card
You obviously don’t follow the EPL or Dutch league

Getting red carded translates to getting exposed? How did he get exposed in Holland?

Zicky baba, yes Berti preference but it was obvious Enyeama was better.

My stance on Ejjde was pre 2002 WC,despite playing in grade A friendlies Enyeama came with just Kenya friendly and snatched the position from him…

Ejide was not convincing during the friendlies matches and against Scotland it was obvious he was not ready, dropping the ball into his own net without any pressure. This singular act led to searching for another Keeper to deputize Ike Shorunmu and Enyeama was the luck one, just a week in camp he proved better.

I have a strange question
Arsenal is a bigger club compared to Everton or Fulham
Isn’t Everton a bigger club compared to Fulham?
Although they’ve been doing badly lately
Hopefully our super eagles get to play European tournaments. That’s my wish

he was good until the red card

He purposely committed that foul that led tot he red because he was the last defender standing and if the arsenal player went pass him they will definently score

I remember the last time Fulham played in Europe with the likes of Dickson Etuhu but I cannot remember the last time Everton did. With the way Everton is craving relegation hopefully they escape. This is a phase Fulham has already been through. And I believe they understand better what it takes to stay up now.

I was vexed that year too but now i know better. I don't mind any consequent coach repeating this, but with sense. No GK should feel tooo comfy on national duty. That way,. Competition and improvement of the good goalies will cause step up and that will boost levels al round too.
