Upfront medical is very good. Ensure you do it before final submission of your application and it should be well spelt out in your SOP the medical numbers as given to you from the hospital.

However, the hospital knows that it is Upfront.

After including the medical numbers in your SOP, you may be given PPR within 2 weeks.

is it possible to do upfront medicals while waiting for Passport?

Hi everyone. Please @Justwise and anyone else.

I need advice. I got admitted to Conestoga college for May 2024.

It says the below:

Estimated tuition fee for the first academic year of the program 8
months of study: $20,604.50 CAD
Estimated tuition fee for the first semester of the program 4months of
study: $10,150.00, CAD
Program Length: 2 Academic Year(s) (Periods Of 8 Months)

This letter of acceptance replaces all previous offers issued and
will expire unless:
A $1,500.00 non-refundable deposit is received by the
College on or before: October 15, 2023
The balance of the first semester tuition fees are paid and
received by the College by: February 13, 2024
Proof of study permit authorization/approval letter is
uploaded to the International Registration Portal
Note: If the above payments are not received by the College before the dates
listed above, you may not be eligible for the program.

*My question is if i can pay the $1,500.00 non-refundable deposit and be issued the LOA i need for a study permit application and also if yes to this - will the fact that i paid just $1,500.00 be a red flag to the IRCC seeing as the college said to pay the balance of the first semester tuition fees by February* Or if i should just pay the $10,150.00 at once. Though i do not have it complete right now. If 1,500 would do i would rather go for that and make the visa application then get ready to pay the funds when due as the Uni asked.

Please help me based on experience everyone.

I appreciate you all.

I think the POF of 10M is poor…
You need at least 30M from a sponsor and tuition paid. I order not to raise brows on your application
Housings:
Good evening guys
I want to start my visa application process myself.I am booking my medicals as I want to do uprfront medicals
I want to go ahead and apply for my visa with my sister as my sponsor with a closing balance of 10million naira,I also have an offer of residency throughout my stay in canada from my elder sister which she will be writing a letter towards that notion asides this there’s no other pof no landed properties or anything. Please I want to know what are the possibilities of getting my visa.
My course is a 1year course starting in May anyways…I want to know what you guys think please.I just started my letter of explanation but I am having a problem explaining family ties..how do I prove this?

[ quote author=ekeson45 post=125838071]Greetings people,
Please I need an advise on this.
I'm applying for a masters degree program course based at uni.calgary, the course requirements states that your last two years study cgpa at minimum of 3.0 can be used.
Now, I used the school excel calculations sheet sent to me which I enter my results and it is 9.05 cgpa

My concern now is that, I have 2.2(2.75) when I calculate the 4yrs study results. But I used their sheet to calculate the last two years study results I'm seeing 9.05( I think it's Indian 10 grading scale) and if calculated into 4.0 grading scale, I have 3.62cgpa.
Should go ahead to apply or send a mail to them first. Thanks for the reply in advance
Okay thanks sir

I think you should send a mail to the graduate Chair of the department. However, your 2.75 may place around 2.3 on the 4pt scale. I think you can use WES free assessment tool to try to convert your scores.

30M POF for one year program is way overblown. Are you going for MBA. Don't totally kill op spirit. Pof depends on your tuition fee and in this case just 10k living expenses and maybe 4k miscellany. Would be excellent if sponsor can show some commitment by paying some fees or sending some money to your acc. Sponsor should also have like 5M above this total sum you need as pof. 15M could be enough. But you might want to provide complete information to get proper advise. Like how much is your tuition fee ?. Also don't flaunt the idea of having ties to CA too much(free accommodation) especially as you have no assets or strong ties to NG. It may seriously work against you. You should never have more ties to Ca than NG on study permit. Above all,you need to make ur app strong. I am no pro but you might want to personally appeal to Zubizareta and co to help you. Help you look at what you are doing and guide you. Will increase your chances a lot.

I appreciate you all.

You can go ahead and submit your application after the payment of $1,500, however, ensure you properly demonstrate your ability/your sponsor's ability to sponsor your studies through your LOE and POF.

Someone shared his story here paying just the minimum deposit of $1500 to Conestoga two weeks ago and he got approval.

NOTE: it is always better to make substantial payment instead of mere minimum deposit if you can.

If you have the 10,150 to pay now then pay once since you will eventually pay it later and possibly even at a higher rate. However, you can go ahead and pay the 1500 cad first and apply for visa. With a good SOP and detailed pof explanation with supporting documents, you can still have a successful visa application.

According to that excel sheet, you are meant to use the grading scale of your school and to my knowledge, most Nigerian schools use a grading scale of 5.0 not 4.0.

Check and make your research though

I appreciate you all.

Recently, Conestoga College has started increasing their number (and amount) of tuition deposits. In many cases, they’d ask you to pay the initial $1,500 CAD, and subsequently, pay another sum (about 6k-8k. It is not even fixed). Please check your offer letter very well to be sure there is no extra requirement in terms of payment.
Generally, it is safe to even pay more than the tuition deposit. Say for example you were asked to pay only 1500, but you went ahead to pay about $6k, would not only show your seriousness, but it would also help reduce your proof of funds.

When are you submitting your application? If you’re submitting before your tuition deadline, you’re good. But if after, please pay it. Nonetheless you have to pay that money before the February date so you’d be allowed entry (should your visa application be approved on time.)

Good luck.

The delay is due to the volume of applications IRCC handle these days. Continue to send the webform and mails at least 2 or 3 times a day. You may need to attach your admission letter with the mails and webform to express the frustration the delay I s causing you. Surely, they will answer you soon.

Please can someone make an input on this

Application submitted since 24th July
Eligibility started 30th aug
Medicals updated to pass 8th sept

I have sent countless webform, is this time frame normal?
People get medical passes and get PPR within 3days.

If you are resuming in January 2024 you can still make your payment after your deadline but you most complete the first semester fee required from your LOA before you travel to Canada.

A friend of mine did the same thing even he paid 3 days before his flight and gotten his acknowledge payment receipt while his on transit before landed, upon landed no officer was asking him any single thing.

Note: make sure you pay your first semester tuition fee as required from your LOA before you travel to Canada .

You can email the school and inform them how difficult you are facing through your bank to make the payment to school.

Trust me that's what a friend did and they responded that they are aware of that and he should make sure he pay the fee before travel to Canada inorder to avoid officer query at the Airport..

I hope this help?

Thank you very much. Hopefully I’ll quote you when I get my visa God’s willing

Can anyone suggest how I can make Admission application payments
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 3:43pm On Sep 17, 2023
Hello, a lump sum payment, is often referred to as a single, large payment made in one go, rather than in multiple smaller installments. The amount of a lump sum payment can vary widely depending on the context and the type of account or financial arrangement involved. 500k can be a lump sum for some accounts whereas 10M might not be a lump sum for another account so it depends on the transaction history of that account.
For the crypto simply explain the source of money after the sale if there is any evidence of the transaction kindly attach it

Good evening,
Please we need help. Though this is something we should have done since we started nurturing the idea of travelling to Canada. But we admit we made such a mistake of not preparing ourselves well and bracing up for whatever life has in store for us in Canada.
My wife applied for study permit and I applied for SOWP. And to the glory of God we have our passports stamped already.
But reality is beginning to dawn on me as the head of the family. This are our challenges.
As a family man I have no skills. The only skill I think I have is car driving. Because I enjoy driving a lot.
My wife too has no skills or any form of handiwork. So we're both confused on the right direction to go on this japa matters.
Part of the challenges I have is , I'm Hypertensive at a very young age of 35yrs. So I might be limited to choice of jobs.
Though we've paid full tuition for her 1yr program. So we don't have much pressure on the tuition fees. Since her program is just 8months program.
We'll appreciate ideas and advice on how to scale through life in Canada.
