The mindset matters. Right from the projects conceptualization.

Having supermarket and shopping centres infused into skyscrapers is a way to beautify the city.

Attract people to the building and get secondary and tertiary funds for the building's maintenance and the likes.

The also clime matters too, but for me I'll say Nigerian rich and affluent likes to keep people off. If you think otherwise, how many of your friends who made it before you chose not to de-friend you. Let's start from here.

The bolded is true. Blame those aspire to transpire motivational speakers that always advise people to leave their old friends once they make it and make rich friends.

Tower buildings not skyscrapers. There’s no single skyscraper in Nigeria!

You are obviously a school dropout to type this.

No, you Ill-exposed dullard, the Guardian Newspaper UK editorial board does not indulge in publishing “fake drawing and fake story” to its millions of readers and shareholders across the world.

It’s also tragic that you feel so inferior to the point that you regard any positive report from your history - even from foreigners - as ‘fake’.

Hope you don’t pass your terrible inferiority complex to your kids.

You're the one who feels extremely inferior to the point that you read and believe eu:ropeans version of history.

You're an educated illiterate suffering from slave mentality.

You think eu:ropeans who have always loved killing black people will sit and draw the kind of houses black people where living in You must be insane.

What about countries that don't allow citizen to acquire fire arm? France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, UK, China, UAE, E.t.c?

Compare their standard of living to Nigeria's standard of living. Do you know how crazy poverty is in Nigeria? My car battery was stolen a few days ago, even though we have a fence. Probably one of my neighbours stole it angry

Nobody said there were no doors in Africa, you loud cretin.

I said it was customary in Nigeria to build houses without FRONT doors.

Do you know what a FRONT door is?

You dull cretin do you know there were wild animals, thieves, insects e.t.c and it will be stupid not to put doors in houses..

It wasn't customary in Nigeria to build without doors..

You're a dullard

This guy is a friggin idiot.

The Europeans did not sail to West Africa?

Because they could have simply traveled from Europe to Algeria and climbed on a donkey for a gruelling three weeks journey through the FCKING SAHARA DESERT to get to Nigeria?

How did they conduct trade, or you don’t know they traded heavily with Benin, Oyo, Ashantis and other coastal West Africans?

What an embarrassment of a person.

Complete historical illiterate.

I suppose the trans-Atlantic slave trade never happened either, since Europeans didn’t sail to West Africa.

Please, what school did you attend?

You're an idiot.

They never sailed to West Africa.

They never traded with Africans..

You're an abomination and disgrace of a person.

You're a complete illiterate slave.

At least, you were wise enough to decode the idea that the trans-atlantic slave trade never happened and is another fictional story from the eu:ropeans. But since you're suffering from colonial and slave mentality you can never accept the idea.

Go and return your certificate because the schools you attended only made you a better slave and did not teach you how to think beyond what eu:ropeans have written and claimed.

Eu:ropeans in that era can't trade with people they enjoy killing and enslaving.

You're very mis-educated and they gave you a degree for your mis-education grin

This is an American neighborhood, they prefer greenery instead of fences!

Please don't use the horrible surburbs of the US. EVERYONE HATES THOSE. Their streets are unwalkable and you need to have a car to even exist. The green lawns are nice and all, but then you'll find the horrid strodes and ghost streets

Why are Most buildings in Nigeria especially commercial towers fenced off?

From the Downtown of Lagos, To The most Affluent areas of Abuja, They all have something in Common, All the Skyscrapers are all fenced off and not open to the public!

This make the city look ugly, In modern society, Skyscrapers down floors are rented out for restaurant, Boutiques, e.t.c, Which makes window-shopping possible!

Photo 2: Eko hotel towers, Lagos
It's no brainer

Security is important in this part of the world. We are not ready for fenceless structures

Camera doesnt do shit in a country without accurate data capture, naija police dont do plainclothes patrol, getting license fr gun is expensive&tedious reason fr such structures,if no one sees inside all the time fear no go gree make dem enter steal cos they dont even know the way or who's inside..
As for restaurant and boutiques, so you op want the thieves to have a clear view of the designers or customers using iphone 14 they will come back to steal in the future abi?? Every country makes do according to their circumstances as for naija security is at an all time low.. normal average areas thieves dey enter boutique and restaurant for afternoon dey obtain,if those establishments seal off their access it will be hard for the thieves, cos their m.o is to pass like 3-4 times on bike or marwa to scope such joints then hit like lightning b4 anyone can react.

It's for security reasons. Anywhere you see a/some big man/big men in Nigeria, they will do everything to keep the poor faraway from them to avoid robbery and kidnapping.

That's a fictional story.

If there were no doors in houses in Africa then there won't be indigenous words for door in the indigenous languages.

Why would Eu:ropeans sail through the oceans when they could just land in Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria e.t.c or whatever those countries were called then and head downwards to West Africa.

No eu:ropean sailed to West Africa.

You better stop believing their fictional stories and fictional books they are fake stories.
if is a fictional story then u mean king jaja of opobo, ajayi crowther and Pepple/king Jumbo of Bonny were all fictional characters.

Trans-atlantic slave trade is different from colonialism which is forced military occupation of a place.

Trans-atlantic slave trade never happened. Colonialism happened and colonialism is proof that they were not interested in trading with us and never traded with us.

The people you mentioned were attacked and their towns were burnt except Ajayi Crowther who was a black person from another country who they gave a Yoruba name to deceive Yoruba people.

In 2023, Whyte people maltreat and kill black people at the slightest opportunity.

Do you think that between the years 1600 - 1830 when racism was at it's highest and when black Americans were already in slavery do you think that they will trade with black people who were the same race and very similar to black Americans whom they had already enslaved long before they invaded Africa
