If the bolded is true then ETH must be using Sapele water to brush his teeth. You want to be a pressing team and still carry a passenger in attack. The front 3-4 pressers are key and if anyone of them is slacking off then the whole press will be rendered useless.

ETH is good but e get where e good reach. Some in-game decisions he make are suspect. And this usage of Rashford is crap.

Salah, Saka, Graelish and other wingers in top teams were not given preferential treatment. They all work hard and create chances for their teammates. And guess what, this doesn't impede their decisions making or mar their performance.

ETH has to give himself brain. Giving preferential treatment to certain players harms team harmony when those players start misbehaving.

If you want to have a stroller in your attack it is better you pack the bus like under Jose or sit deep and hit on the counter like under Ole.

What i am seeing are strategic flaws in ETH's planning. Even the way we press is ineffective. Apart from Rashy strolling around and being a minus one, we also usually press with only 3 or 4 players (minus Rashy makes it 2 or 3 effective pressers). If you watch the great pressing teams like Flick's Bayern, Man City, Liverpool, they usually press with 5 or sometimes even 6.

To be honest i can't remember Garnacho having any good games, but you may be right. One mistake ETH made was keeping Rashford on until the end when it obviously wasn't his day. I really wonder what message that sends out to the other players. He should hve the Bayern game as his last chance salon, and if he flops again then someone else should be given a run of games on that LW. A more team-oriented player, be it Garnacho or Pellistri.

I used to think coaches and players analyze their performance after every game, especially when everything goes wrong. But I doubt ETH does this. Many times last season, those players and coach will offer apologies and whatever after a bad game only for them to do the very same thing the next game. You wonder if they actually look at their performances collectively as a team and individually

King Kobbie! Nice one. I too like the boy. After Greenwood he is the academy player that i have the most trust in. He is also the only that at every stage i have seen him in (Under-17, Under-18, Under-23, First Team) has had little or no settling in period. He just comes in and starts playing like a chairman. The only time he struggled a bit was when he was played in AM/RW for the Under-18s as a 15yr old. When he came back the next season as a 16yr old 1st scholar he dominated at CM like a boss.

With Casemiro, Amrabat, Eriksen around i don't think we will rush him too much, though if he comes in and displaces all of them i won't be surprised. That is the Mainoo way.
