I don't think so. Cancelling is different from not honouring it CowbellY: |

CowbellY:Nope. I have cancelled several dds for good reasons. … And once the company comes back to me, we take it from there. They can not force the payment from one’s bank account. Nothing has gone to any records. Pls let’s stop fear mongering. |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Nobody: 2:00am On Sep 21, 2023 |
giselle237:Hm. A DD for an ongoing service like a gym or subscription is very different from a DD attached to a credit agreement. This one is the latter, and if he stops it, it could reflect as a default on his credit record. He needs to check if the credit agreement is already on his credit record - if it is, then it would not be prudent to stop it on his own. |

Taal17:I remember many years ago........ Madam's friend recommended this pot to my wife (what they don't tell you is, the person recommending receives £250 referral bonus) ...... 😁🤣 I simply told her, the moment the pot enters this house, a divorce letter would be coming through the letter box......... 😁😭 |

yolkman20:Unfortunately, you did not exercise your '' right to reject '', within the legal framework allowable by your consumer protection rights........ You are now stuck, that credit agreement would be your undoing...... Even if you went to a small claims court........ Your only options - : - Breach the agreement - The name(s) on the agreement, would be blacklisted. Your credit report would have a massive red mark...... - When they take you to court, plus all court charges and administrative costs..... Expect them to add another £1500 (or close enough), to end balance.......... ::::: View this experience as signing credit agreement lesson 101........ |

Hebraeem:I was in this dilemma as well and was using T212 at the time. I contacted them several times via email and chat about it, their response was consistent that I can "buy" stocks on the platform without violating the visa rules. Now see the confusion; my question was can I continually trade without violating visa rules? Their response was I can continually buy without violating visa rules. I didn't know if the use of the word buy in their response as opposed to trade in my question was intentionally so I closed my account with them and opened a new account in my wife's name since my wife is a dependent and does not have restrictions on doing several work or earning extra income. |

yolkman20:When your wife sabi say they're pushing the pot onto her, why she go sleep for their house? So your wife get respect for her uncle pass you? E no make sense. |

yolkman20:Painful... In retrospect, read the terms and conditions of these kind of contracts no matter how bulky it may be, you would have seen your right to cancel within 14 days. A genuine org would mention this to you but I doubt these guys will. As the pressure was getting too much, I would have just dash my uncle's wife the £500 let the matter die. Unfortunately, it will be wise to fulfill the contract to the end, you uncle and his wife have lost their respect, if I were you, if they don't have the power to revoke the COS or affect your continued stay in UK, take the pot to them let them be seeing it everyday in their house as a reminder of their wickedness, cast them to other family members that they ganged to scam you guys, cut ties with them because they have scammed you once, they will scam you again. |

Viruses:Investment of any kind is not illegal under the skilled worker visa. After all everyone is allowed to open and invest in government-enabled stocks and shares ISAs, and even get the bonus in stocks and shares LISAs. The restriction is on work. So taking additional employment and being paid for work performed. |

Lexusgs430:This was my only regret. I was just too mad to make the right decision or necessary step. I immediately told my uncle wife to come carry her pot and it led to a massive argument that night, she said since they've cooked with it, there's no going back, my wife also rang the dealer the next day and she said the same thing. I should've brought the matter here or look them up online and give them a shout, I never did. I believe I my argument can be based on the fact that they lied that we can't return it when we had 14days cooling period to get out of the contract. Note that the DD is on Wifey's account but I've been the one paying it. |

Lexusgs430:ojo ta ba r'ibi ni ibi n wo ile. There are some things that don't require much patience and/or understanding. You tackle such things head-on, no matter what. The day that thing happened gangan na im all yam and pepper suppose don scatter. I still can't believe op got roped into paying such a sum successfully. To say NO and damn all consequences easy funmi baje baje. As most have outlined, only option that won't have future consequences would be to contact the company to discuss amicable way (if any) to opt out and cut his losses, since the allowable time per the agreement has long elapsed (6 months is a long time, so I also don't think waging war with the company fit work). If dem no gree, e be things be that. |

As Elder Lexus has said. CREDIT AGREEMENT 101 and I also second the advise of Virus, Take that pot to your uncle's house and leave it there, you may be lucky guilt tripping might work and they may come to agreement with you on way forward forthe payment and if they don't, they are really evil, Stay away from them. yolkman20: |
