Yes. If your new phone is (advanced) enabled to access high quality contents, or enable to sycronize more contents online by default, It will surely consume more data.

It's just like using those Nokia Symbian and Java phones compared to using android device s. Open the same mobile web page on both devices and the android will use more data.

It is possible that your network provider could, indeed, mess up or add you extra data charges but its highly unlikely.
Your charges are calculated by computers. You can download an external app for monitoring your data usage though.

No but the type of applications software you use on the phone will determine the data consumption

I think it is the specifications.

The larger and modern the spec, the more data is consumed.

For example, more pixels, more data. This is just one aspect.

Your phone picture quality will determine. . The higher the picture quality or MegaPixels the higher the data consumption. .

Go to see settings and view your phone data usage. See the apps that consume more, including background apps.
Shutdown some. Also stop some apps running automatically when the phone is turned on.

Am curious to know if brands consume data differently.

We are on the same shoes. I think Samsung consumes more data

Data consumption rate is NOT determined by device, but the Application that runs on the device.Example TikTok consumes more data than YouTube. Some web browser also consumes data than other webbrowers.

Additionally, your network speeds also determine how fast your data will be consumed. Example, 4G consumes more data than 3G.

yes. Phones like Samsung that has many in-house apps and community ecosystem take more data if you set your phone to auto update.

The Samsung account will auto update Samsung exclusive apps unavailable to other androids.

Itel
Infinix
Tecno
Gionee don't have their own independent cloud ecosystem and will consume less data but less robust function

My data was actually draining out like say there is some linkages on my phone I,e it just zap 1GB within 30 seconds.

Until I learned to on my DATA SAVER and off my phone SYNCHRONISATION.

NOW I can enjoy using even 100 mb to brows as much as I can excluding downloading. Just try it out and see

You have a lot of apps running in your background. Apps you probably have no use of. I suppose you should be savvy enough to locate those apps and disable them. A phone is only as smart as the permissions granted it.

It depends on the amount of bloatware the brand has on their phones. Some of these bloatware (pre-installed oem apps) are connected to the internet and slowly eats data by sending and receiving information.
Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo to name a few are culprits.

Minus the Google OS which comes with Google Apps (Gmail, Gmaps, Gmusic etc) phone manufacturers have their OS skin placed over android and they come with their apps and sometimes even their own apps store like Samsung, Xiaomi etc. All these apps use data in the background and even run updates for each app. that is why vanilla android used in Pixels and Nokia, are better.

If you want to avoid bloatware, some phones allow you to delete these apps or to restrict their data access, You can also Force stop them from running. For phones that dont allow such you can root the phone and delete whatever you like and keep only relevant apps. Iphones dont have bloatware, but it has high data traffic.

If all that is too much for you then avoid phones with bloatware.

Data finishes fast this days. Even 37gb doesn't last me a month again, and the thing is that I don't watch TikTok or Instagram or Facebook and I hardly download movies. I use YouTube but not everyday like 2 times in a week.

The phone brand itself does not determine the amount of data it consumes. Data consumption is primarily influenced by how you use your phone and the apps or services you use. Factors that can affect data usage include:

1. **Apps and Usage**: Different apps and services use varying amounts of data. Streaming video or music, for example, typically consumes more data than browsing websites or sending text messages.

2. **Settings**: Some phones allow you to adjust data usage settings. For instance, you can set apps to update only over Wi-Fi or limit background data usage.

3. **Operating System**: The operating system on your phone can impact data usage efficiency. Newer OS versions might have better data management features.

4. **Network and Connectivity**: The type of network you're connected to (3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi) affects data consumption. Streaming over mobile data tends to use more data compared to Wi-Fi due to faster speeds.

5. **Content Quality**: Streaming services often allow you to choose the quality of the content you're streaming. Higher quality videos, for instance, use more data than lower quality ones.

6. **Updates**: Automatic app updates and system updates can use data. You can often schedule these to occur over Wi-Fi to conserve mobile data.

In summary, while the brand of your phone can indirectly affect data consumption through factors like default settings and pre-installed apps, it's the way you use the phone and configure its settings that primarily determine how much data it consumes

Stop watching videos online and stop your phone from autodownloading Whatsapp media. With those off, I can enjoy 3GB or less of data a full month.
