Federal public service is very different from the state service. Any minister that want to take on the civil servant will run into trouble sooner than later. Umahi needs to calm down and work with the ministry staff if he intends to achieve anything meaningful in the ministry.

He will use only consultants to deliver on his task.

Civil servants are very corrupt. Why will a worker be going to work very late?

If they're tired of working, the fcsc should sack them and employ others.

I am totally in support of this. Our civil servants are One of our biggest problem in Nigeria. 85% of them are not serious with the job. They need someone like wike to make them buckle up.

I was wondering what was causing the traffic along Shehu Yarafua about there.

That place needs a total overhaul. A cesspool of corruption and everything wrong with the Nigeria state, the civil service and the direction this country was headed.

But I have my strong reservations against the use of 'Consultants' for public service. It further weakens the institution involved.

Nigerians must do the hard work of building institutions rather than finding short term fixes for every social malaise.

If I was the Minister,

I will make list of all the senior staffs who led the Protest and give them 6months suspension without salaries.

Enough of taking Government job like it's your birth right which any one can do any how: can they try 30% of the rubbish they do in a Banking or Private Company?

I got to know growing up that some junior staffs don't even go to work at times because their Directors and Head of Department are very currupt.

People should know that this Tinubu's time, we must meet up with international standard.

No more business as usual....

Keep it up and tougher Mr Minister sir

The problem the ministry is having is because the right person heads the ministry and he knows any foul play that can be played by them. So any action from him will always result in an attack by these people who have refused to make the country progress. Inflated projects with no sustainability in execution.

He is fooling himself. This is not how you get results. How can you lock ppls parents simply because they came late? Is the ministry a secondary school? The day he comes late will he lock himself out? He can introduce a clocking system that's all.

They are protesting because Umahi has blocked the loopholes that is making it easy for them to steal money and they are the reasons for the bad state of our roads. They collect kickbacks and allow contractors to deliver low quality job. They should be punished for the attitude they have displayed today. They didn't show remorse for coming late.

Tell me the achievement of former ministers who have been working hand-in-hand with the ministry staff.
Civil servants are the most corrupt set of people in this country. They won't let this country grow. It is better Umahi works with consultants and private firms.

If truly they were locked out for lateness, make DSS pick the ring leaders, others go fall in line. I hate shit.
I remember the council manager for the local govt wey I dey work around 2009 in Lagos, he locked out staff for weeks, na noise people fit make, they mellow down when they see sey he serious.

Useless and lazy Horde , them bloody civil servants,,, you can't file a document through them without spraying kickbacks and dropping kola .

The way they demand for bribe , you will think they are never paid salaries .

They should all be retrenched or sacked and Youthful graduates employed in their stead .

That was how one of my babes was celebrating the victory of the new Governor yet lamenting , because she was employed into the civil service by PDP regime and risks being sacked by the new regime .
Babe doesn't work , she only goes to work around 12 am , signs attendance, come to my place for dick , then return during closing hours to sign out , then straight to her mom's shop for the rest of the day .

She still had nerve to be cursing Government for not increasing their salaries ...

Someone that doesn't know why people come to work late in this generation is talking about being successful, what do you know about being successful? Very funny honestly.

We will continue to come to work late and not even your paymaster can do anything. Awon association of multiple sources of income lokan.

I believe the minister should follow the law in dealing with them instead of locking them outside sha

Same way no government will listen to your rubbish whining. You guys are always heartless as long as the issue doesn’t affects you. That’s why you deserve the bad roads and poverty you are facing. And you will continue to suffer bad government forever!

The biggest problem of Nigeria are the ones who call themselves 'common man'.

The radical change needed by the Country has to begin bottom-up.

Tinubuagbado:

In Nigeria, the civil service is one of the most unproductive, wasteful institutions.
