@seunmsg this is surprising, coming from you. Umahi should not calm down. These so-called public servants are the real enemies of Nigeria and he must stand his ground if we are going to witness any meaningful change. Most of these guys are doing nothing out there aside from running their own personal empires. They are easily replaceable with people with better academic qualifications even right here on Nairaland within just a few hours notice! If we want progress, we have to make hard decisions and stand by it! seunmsg: |

Shameless people. Why did they come to work late. U are late and instead of begging or being remorse, the are making noise again. How will Nigeria change if this are the type of people running the processes of the government. 2 Likes |

Umahi should sack all these lazy fools chanting he must go and employ competent and disciplined people. They think it is business as usual. Many of them usually come late to work, I have witnessed it personally. Some don't even go at all till towards the ending of the month so that they can collect salary that they never worked for. They should be ashamed of themselves for going late to work, yet they have the effrontery to be shouting he must go. 1 Like |

Ikaeniyan0:the lateness was caused by the poor implementation of the government policy of subsidy removal, most of the workers probably need to Trek a reasonable distance from their houses to save part of the cost of transportation which has gone high heaven. |

seunmsg:The average Igbo man doesn't care about the nonsense going on in civil service, he thinks only about getting value for money spent, Umahi will not be moved by all these shenanigans from the staff, he will rather resign, the fact that he is APC does not remove his sense of reasoning after all APC is not his first party |

seunmsg: Yet we all claim to want positive change in this country. How is that possible when workers are bold enough to ask for the sack of a minister just because he wants them to report to their duty post as at when due. |

Oladat: A lot of you can’t read and understand. The late coming is a small issue and not the reason for the showdown with the minister. The minister is not allowing the civil servants do their job. He is bringing consultant engineers to do the job of the civil servants. That’s the crux of the matter. 1 Like |

lagonovo: I’m a federal civil servant and I know how the system works. I worked in this same ministry of works for 5 years before I was posted out. So, I have a good knowledge of the ministry unlike a lot people who are just capping what they know nothing about. The federal public service is run by bureaucracy. Any minister that comes in and want to fight the established bureaucrats will fail. The federal system is a complex structure that is run on laws, regulations, circulars, PR, and deep experience. The civil servants are far more knowledgeable than him about the system. They will set him up and need him up quickly if he takes them on. 1 Like |
