THE BLACK BOOK --- 4.5/10

A movie with an in-depth, relatable story that joined its colleagues at the sacrificial altar of poor execution, thanks enormously to;

* Poor emotional weight
* Unappealing musical scores
* Fake or plastic actions
* Fake and laughable explosions
* Sacrilegious gunshots
* Poor actings even for RMD and Sam Dede
* Ridiculous mining scene CGI... everyone knows that was a board behind the insider.
* Lack of tension and curiosity
* Dry and boring storytelling.

In summary, $1M (if the reports are true) --- approximately one billion naira --- was flushed down the toilet. Back in days, I used to state that the problem of Nollywood wasn't lack of funds, but rather lack of creativity in storytelling or execution. I was vehemently opposed, but it seems our Nollywood brethren are making me a prophet.

I have a lot to say, but let me shut the fück up before I will be termed, UNPATRIOTIC. Next on my list, SHE Must Be Obeyed.

Ruined is 6/10 for me.
I enjoyed watching this movie because of the lessons i learnt from it.

Love is always not enough in a relationship, if you are in a relationship and your partner is showing signs of being a violence person, signs of being not mentally stable then you have to take a decision to run for your life.

Like i said love is not enough for a relationship or marriage, even money isn't enough too.

If you ask me the most important aspect you consider before going into a relationship is the mental state of your supposed partner.

First of all, She must be obeyed is a stupid title. What happened to She's World. One of the most overlooked aspect in filmmaking I've noticed over the years in Nollywood and Hollywood as well is meaningless titles in order to appear catchy. I saw it yesterday and i suspect its all about tiwa savage. As usual, funke akindele brought all her friends into the series. The height of nepotism.

Watch too many epic movies, I didn't know when I started and completed this.

I just rewatched Twilight🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️
The book Twilight by Stephanie Meyers was one of my go to be fiction I always relied when I was bored so going into the movie I had high hopes expectations for this movie but it failed terribly. The acting, writing, colour grading, camera work everything was just soooooo badd fgs🤦🏾‍♂️ even Edward is not ever fine as described by the movie. Sometimes they'll just be turning camera for nothing.
The part where she took Edward to the woods is the worst vampire... no worst reveal of all times wtf, they were just turning camera like Ewedu for nothing🤦🏾‍♂️.
The color grading in the movie did not even add anything to the effects of the movie, they just carried green gradient and did multiply and hsb and put on top film. There has never been a worst actress in a movie until Bella in this film came up. I know she has gotten way better but come on, it was so bad, I was just using bombastic side eye and be watching her throughout

SHE MUST BE OBEYED --- 3.5/10

A series that was destined to have a lot of goodness going for it but unfortunately, all that was shattered thanks in whole to being boring, uninteresting, having some senseless plot elements, and lacking a cohesive storyline... the plot was loosed, flying all over the place like smokes released into the atmosphere.

Well, despite its "Tragicness", it had some good elements that tried in their restricted capacities to at least make it watchable. Elements like;

* The actings of Funke Akindele, Bishop Imeh Umoh (Etim) and Akah Nnani (Sisqo). Their actings were impressive. They brought life to the series.

* The bringing back of classic actors in the name of Mike Ezeruonye and Chiwetalu Agu. Seeing them after a long time was thrilling.

* The comic performance of one of my favorite comic actors in Nollywood, Imeh Bishop Umoh. His acting was amazing. He really cracked my rips.

* The good musical scores. It got that one right.

* Showcasing the dirty shenanigans that goes on in the Nigerian Music Industry --- the social media dramas, trolls, fake lives, fake philanthropy, image smearing, sextape scandals etc.
To be candid, a film like this would have done way better as R-rated, but unfortunately it wasn't. Stories like this needs to be told raw, without any form of censorship.

Aside these, the series was a disaster in storytelling. It, unfortunately, will always be in "Potential Hell", leaving us wondering how it would have been if done well. This motion picture has the potential of being the Nigerian Music Industry version of Succession and Empire, but unfortunately that isn't the reality.

I sincerely hope its sequel will be well done in other to rectify this trauma of a series.
