Tinubu and his supporters are clueless. They just want to be in power. No understanding at all. Those that pegged the dollar at an official rate, were they mad? Didn't they have a reason for doing so?

He jumped in and instead of studying and understanding the situation on ground, he took a decision that was perfect in his empty skull without facing reality and now we are in this mess.

Nigeria is caused with bad leaders

Are these leaders previously ordinary people, before they were allowed into office?

Or they were never ordinary Nigerians?

Are we Nigerians good people?

Do religious, cultural and business leaders also count as part of your bad leaders

Tribalism go finish nigerians. Oya make una dey defend tinubu. I am even afraid to send money to my account in naija now because 1000 dollars today fit worth 400 dollars tomorrow for naija naira. The CBN has to increase interest rates to a level it can start slaying inflation. If done, the Naira would become stronger. I won't be surprised if it hits about 800.

However, it's as though Tinubu is worried that any steep rate rise lest it tilts the economy into a recession. This is inescapable.

With a stronger Naira and lower inflation, the positive effect would outweigh the any recession or downturn it brings.

Cheaper prices are like a God send.

The CBN needs to open up to how much is in the foreign reserves. The government has kept mum about it. If the rumor that it has fallen to $4bn is true, the country might have no choice but to approach the IMF

What does CBN manufacture? What services are exported by CBN to earn dollars

lol

Do you mean we import beans & garri too?

U forced local rice on Nigerians but local rice price still high than foreign rice

We get plank from our forest, go to plank market now to know the current price

Inflation is not all about substituting imported products for locally produced goods

No country is self sufficient, every countries import one thing or the other

We plant cassava in Nigeria but a bag of garri is now expensive than what it used to be before

Tinubu and his people simply lack the capacity to handle a national economy and they have lost control of it , most likely he would have done magnificently well as a Lagos state governor but as a president, it is obvious his understanding of national economics and economy is very limited but what can we do we are in it already after all EMI LOKAN

See question ooo.

Until Nigerians stop voting along tribal and religious lines at all levels of elections, until we have a system of elections that votes really count and we can punish politicians and hold them accountable, it will progressively get worse

Ever since the formation of this country, it has never gotten better. It gets worse with each government

Can we all stop with the Tinibu bashing.
The economy was a disaster before this man took the saddle but he grossly underestimated the rot and attacked the job impulsively probably out of excitement.
Now reality has hit him and he is as perplexed as u and I. Our country is like Lazarus that has been bound in grave clothes and the only thing containing the stench of our demise is propaganda.
We need a saviour to shout "Lazarus, come forth! "because even Peter Obi would have a migraine fixing this country at this point.
Write it down, dollar on Dec 25 will be 1230.
