SoNature:An apparent truth is we are ab initio very rich but in the pockets of few corrupt politicians! Check the amount we generated annually in the 90's and check the amount the so-called rich countries of today generated, then you start asking yourself what happened. Nigeria's riches have been stolen and Nigeria is now a pauper!! |

Islie:I disagree with the amount for primary school teachers. Qualified primary school teachers shouldn't earn less than secondary school teachers. And their basic salary should be equivalent to lecturers. But their should be regulation to ensure primary school teachers are qualified to teach primary schools and not those who take up the job because of unemployment situation in Nigeria. |

Playing to the gallery, as usual! A country bogged down by an unprecedented debt burden shouldn't be talking of astronomical increase in salaries/emoluments. It's like making merry while ones house is on fire. Let's be realistic for once! |

Islie:It is not the salary that is the problem. It is the curriculum. Primary and secondary are doing well in my view. Only university education has not contributed. Though it is in some areas too. Medical line education has been up to speed. Same with social sciences. But engineering and agriculture education which are the foundational cources that ought to interact with society for development has been far from achieving their purpose |

Stupid mofo at that Nass, who the hell do you propose #500k for secondary school teachers and "#250k" for primary school teachers? Do you know what it takes to build up kids at the primary level? Or do they think primary school teachers can't teach in secondary schools? |

SoNature: Bad belle, you say govt can't pay teachers this amount but same govt can afford flamboyant lifestyle right. People like you are the problems of our society. I feel pain seeing a graduate earning peanuts as a teacher for a job he is overly qualified for but here you're capping rubbish because you want people to continue in penury. It won't work for you. Do you know the so many loopholes and leakages in this country? If those funds are mopped up, you'd still have enough after paying teachers handsomely. |

LMAO. Same govt that are crying that they can't pay the slight increase in health workers salary and are yet to pay the 35k wage award for 6months. Since May, they have been giving hope and different promises to civil servants without one naira entering the civil servants bank account. Naim dem dey wan give teachers FALSE HOPE so those ones will be floating in a F0ol's paradise and be taking loans upandan. EV!L Basteerds! |

SoNature: Nigeria politicians earn so well, some of the highest paid politicians in the world. While as there are countries with the same number of teachers like Nigeria who pay them well and pay their politicians moderately. The fact is Nigeria should cut the cost of governance and budget padding and we will have money |

That means everyone would join the teaching train and if its implemented, i bet the next teachers recruitment will be 10x the past immigration crowd we saw.. Also, if you propose for such amount, then parents should be ready to cough out at least 100k firmly as sch fees for their children in school! |

thatigboman:in a federation. The federal government main business is defense , Central banking, international relation every other things should be the responsibility of subnational. The problem is we have so many subnational that were created for political reason and are not economically viable and thereby increasing governance cost. We have no business having more than 6 states at most 9 states. 1 Like |
