I'm fully in support of this, our worship centers, churches and mosques should be regulated by the government

In my area, you can hardly sleep because of the unpleasant noise coming from the loudspeakers attached to mosques

It's on the website of the regulator. The last time I checked, it was 42decibel or so but check to confirm.

There's a free app, Sound Meter, I use to measure it whenever we need to discharge messages out during evangelism.

As a personal value system, I really genuinely feel it's abhorrent to use your own sound to the discomfort of others. Both Bible and Quran preach to its faithfuls to live at peace with our neighbours and respect the authorities. As a Lagosian,I particularly carry the burden to comply with this law so others just coming to Lagos will know that we are law abiding in Lagos.

Let's support Lagos state Government to curb noise pollution please. Check my signature for free stuffs!

Ok.
Of course it's quite unfair to generate noise that will be too loud & offensive to others.
But to avoid allegations of victimisation & witch-hunting, the criteria for Noise Pollution must be clearly stated.
Not only the max dB level but also the minimum distance to site a Church/Mosque/Club etc from residential areas.

It's all stated in the law. The law is in public domain. I am aware it exists and comply with it. Even before its take off, there were enlightenment programs on it on Radio Lagos 107.5 Fm and LTV Dstv 256 .

Some people just want to break the law and get away with it. They must go read it and comply. It was even stricter during BRF's tenure than now sef so there is no excuse.

Ignorance is not an excuse for breaking the law o

It is high time we stop giving unnecessary priorities to all these places of worship. Churches and mosques don't pay tax, yet they won't stop disturbing the peace of real taxpayers living in their communities.

The common practice of mounting roadblocks every Friday for Jumat services should be stopped too

...and all those early morning preachers moving about the neighborhoods with their megaphones should be arrested.

Lagos is the only place you will walk up in the morning and you will be hearing loud noise from both churches and mosques combine with nosie from agboro. I commend this effort made. I will also suggest they also arrest any agboro making loud noises on the street of Lagos.

Nonsense. This is called misplaced priorities. During elections, they blast music upandan shouting ę dibo fun. What's the allowable level of pollution in dB? How did they arrive at this?

In that case, why not also bar all the commercial vehicles conductors from shouting obalende, oshodi oke, etc? Is that not also a form of environmental pollution through noise?

Every church and religious center should abide by environmental laws.

You have no right to steal my peace and serenity in the name of worshipping or praying... It's unacceptable.

Some of you Christians are even funny and obtuse... Didn't Christ himself speak against such noisy acts of loud prayers and worship?! Didn't he commend you all to do it privately?!!

We ranked as the second most prayerful country on earth. And first in Africa. And we don't care if our prayers are disturbing our Neighbours or causing noise pollution.
The mentality of some churches is that when your prayers in church disturb people in the environment via loudspeakers then God will answer your prayers.

45 decibels @ night.

Lasepa.gov.ng
KingGeedorah:
Am try to make sense of this

And its not adding up

generator alone produces 80 -100db, which is above the decibels limit,
Lasepa has an online presence lolz...i only made an avenue to show what is stipulated Moreso im not a resident in LASG...
