Something happened in my church yesterday and its so strange to me.

Yesterday was the youth anniversary so the youth president has been soliciting for funds and yes people complied and myself also. it was time for thanksgiving and all youth danced to the altar then the pastor openly reject the money contributed by the youth to the amount of 50k in the sense that its too small and also making reference to 2years ago when the youth as at that time bought the church drum set to the amount of 250k. he rejected the money and prayed for us.

This is has been disturbing my mind since yesterday and i am just wondering how a pastor will openly reject amount contributed by people.

note this is not mandatory donations and a man of God reject 50k in this economy of Tinubu? i am just having a mix feelings and its disturbing. what your view on this

He knows you’re his property - he knows you are not going anywhere, and he is right. He knows you’re too indoctrinated to still have a will of your own. You must go and get his money any way you can. You MUST. You have no choice

The funny thing is that you will still worship there next Sunday. A priest said use anything you have to come for Thanksgiving, if God is not happy with what you offered to him, he should bless you

If it's one of the "one man churches", it's now time for you to make a decision to stay or to look for another church to worship. The Bible says ". ..by their fruits you shall know them"

A Classic example is the story of the Widow's mite

The Widow’s Offering
Mark chapter 12:
41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.

43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

It's clearly means that your pastor does not have a balanced view of money. He is clearly displaying greed even though he may know that God appreciates whatever contributions a Christian donate as far as it is coming from the heart( Mark 12:42-44). The bible says that Christians should donate willingly and not under compulsion.(2 corinthians 9:7). Please compare the teachings of the bible and his character and be resolved to make a decision.

Yes, you have the Baptist, Anglican, Methodist, ECWA, Catholic, Apostolic faith, CAC, Foursquare, Presbyterian, and many more.

Not all these business ventures littering every nook and cranny.

Mind you, I'm not saying all "one man churches" are business ventures but you just have to be extra careful, rightly dividing the word of truth when dealing with them as they are good at manipulating people's minds.

Your pastor knows your worth. He should expect more from you. Some of you asked for prayers to get jobs you are doing now.

As you are expanding, his ministry has to expand also. Who knows whether the church is in a rental hall now. You want him to stay there for ever?

Youths of the church, stand up to do the needful and stop posting nonsense for here.
You get it?

Which of these churches didn't start as a one - man church? Someone's vision developed over years. Who knows what any of the small churches in an open field can become tomorrow: RCCG, Deeper Life, Winners, JWs, AG, Foursquare....

Now do all these churches teach the same doctrines from the bible? If No, why?

Heb.12.23 - To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
I belong to every church that is part of general assembly.

Matt.13.30 - Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
I am no better farmer than Jesus who will do the separation àt the end of time.

Who made you a judge over the church of Christ which He purchased by his blood?

The answer to your question lies with the person who rejected the contribution. Why did you not ask him rather you came here disturbing us on a Monday morning . do we look like your pastor to you

It's always easier to deceive people especially Nigerians than convince them that they have been deceived.
IF some of us tell Nigerians how long we have been off these churches and still doing flamboyantly and marvellously well, they wouldn't believe it.

Religion causes watershedding of the human brain, that's if the human permits such to get to such a level.

Why are you bringing your church to Nairaland?

I think there is something fake and deceitful about your faith and Christianity

No genuine Chriatian would go to the Social media and publish these sorts with the aim to ridicule the church

Use the money and buy food for those kids begging for food in bus stops, if you add any money on it just so you pastor can accept it, God go vex for you and me to even vex for you for being stupid.

Why do Nigerians attached too much importance to all these fake ass pastors?

So are you saying all churches now are good and that we have to wait to the judgement day before we know the right or the bad one?

Lol.. abeg wey the money?

Jokes apart. This is how they drive people into crime. So if they don't have more than that they should go and steal or what? This is so appalling. Not nice at all. He should have at least accepted it and then later jokingly tease you guys with it during a meeting. Not openly in public like that. That was a very uninspiring thing to do

If na me, I'll stop going to that church. I'm not asking you to stop though but me?, I don waa go another family.

Religion is business, he should be making progress and not going backwards, the youth gave 250k 2 years ago, why 50k this year?, every businessman will reject that, your pastor made the right choice, he's a business man, you are the docile sheep, that's less than 50 dollars, get the yahoo boys in your church to contribute

Religion is a scam
