Deltancapo: NDDC has nothing to do with the political SouthSouth or NigerDelta. It is purely an oil economic and development structure for all states whose oil is from that Oil basin. 2 Likes |

Obierika:Is Akwa Ibom in the Niger Delta? Many of you talk with half Information Do you know that by the constitution and a Supreme Court ruling Akwa Ibom is not entitled to much of the derivation it gets which is based on off-shore oil? The same Obasanjo twisted the arms of the National Assembly to make special legislation and overnight Akwa Ibom became one of the biggest derivation beneficiaries even though constitutionally it was not their entitlement It was a political compromise. Clarke has conveniently forgotten that and wants Akwa Ibom in the NDDC because there is more money coming from there Everything is politics and compromise The same National Assembly he is asking to change the NDDC composition can change it for Akwa Ibom and put them back to their constitutional position which would make them even poorer than Cross River state because by the letter of the constitution they are not entitled to off shore derivation money 3 Likes |

Ezeama400: HOW MUCH OIL DOES IJAW ACTUALLY PRODUCE? THAT IS THE QUESTION THEY SHOULD ASK THE CLOWN. IN RIVERS STATE TODAY, THE PREDOMINANTLY OIL PRODUCING LAND ARE ALL IGBO SPEAKING AREAS. IN DELTA STATE ITSEKIRI PRODUCE THE MOST OIL, BUT THE ANIOMA ALSO HAVE OIL. WHAT I'M NOT SURE IS THE QUANTITY OF OIL ON IJAW LAND BECAUSE IF IT IS THE ONE IN THE SEA THAT IS BRINGING ALL THIS NOISE, THEN MADNESS DEY DEM HEAD. IN NIGERIA TODAY, WHEN U TALK ABOUT OIL ON ANCESTRAL LAND, IGBO IS NUMBER 1. 2 Likes |

BoldBrainz:Yeah we have. I actually think it's a good idea. While leaders of NDDC continue to steal your wealth, South West states will make an exit. Since you all have been major oil producers, there's nothing tangible you've done with your lives so we are happy to not be a part of that corrupt body. But the honest truth is, in the interest of togetherness, this statement should never have been made. Ofcourse this is where we are now, everyone looking for a way out of Nigeria. 1 Like |

People need to study the Supreme Court ruling in the case of Attorney General of the Federation v. Attorney General of Abia State & 35 Ors The sum of it is a determination about littoral boundaries of states and ownership of off shore oil It is established that off shore oil belongs to the Federal government The National Assembly subsequently passed a law to give Akwa Ibom derivation from off shore oil This was an act of benevolence and generosity of the Federation It is not a constitutional entitlement . This simply means it can also be withdrawn by the National Assembly without constitutional change. It is important for people to equip themselves with facts and history before they start ranting 1 Like |

Ezeama400: Wen people totally blinded by their tribe or religion, u see them dancing naked in the market square believing they are fighting for their family. That's exactly what's affecting Clark, even his age refuses to count on him. I imagine if they give state power to him to govern entire country. His own would worse than Buari and Tinubu combine. The big question he is supposed to asked himself is, the core S/S that have been managing the commission over the years, where are the outcomes? Is it not cash cow for them and their cronies? Today, almighty England went as far as Canada, to bring qualified economist to man their central bank, if it's to be my own naija..... 1 Like |

SoNature:I get the points Pa Clark is making, it's just that he is contradicting himself by saying Ondo is not a coastal state. Lagos state and Ondo state are coastal states. And on his remarks about ownership. “It is not possible for a minority shareholder of even 5 per cent to be the Chairman or Managing Director of the limited liability company. He is wrong. I know many Chairmen and CEO who don't even directly have stocks of their company. The CEO of CWG, not until this year, own only 100 units of CWG plc. 2 Likes |

Ezeama400:Clark, though reputed to act clownish, is talking more sense than you here. Producing oil or crude doesn't make a state Niger Delta by regional grouping. If Bauchi and Gombe starts producing oil tomorrow, they shouldnt need the NDDC tag to get oil derivation funds and shouldn't automatically enjoy a development commission because they haven't experienced the victimization ND has experienced to earn them the Development Commission called NDDC. |

RightToReject: Please the name is already proper the only thing improper is that Clark does not know the meaning if Delta. He sees Niger Delta as a name for South South States. What is a Delta? Knowing that and the location of these states mentioned will educate you more. Most politicians are dumb and daft. 1 Like |

Perhaps, the govt will hear his cry and rebrand the commission, then. By rebranding, the commission will just ditch the "Niger Delta" in its name. |
