I have been following this thread for a while now but as a guest.

I took the IELTS test on Saturday and results were as followed;
L- 7.5
R-6.5
W-7.5
S-7.0


Is there a possibility of an increase in my reading by 0.5 if I request for a remark seeing that i’ll need at least 7.0 in all the modules?

How did you apply for remarking

Remarking only works for writing and speaking. Don't waste your money.

I had my first attempt at IELTS on the 23rd of September with British council. My result came out today:

L- 9
R- 8
W- 7
S- 8

I need a 7.5 in writing to max out for express entry. Do you advice I remark writing?

2. What are the chances that it'll come back with a higher score?

3. Can it also come back with a lower score?

Please assist

Exam date - 23rd September 2023
Exam body - British council
Exam Type - IELTS Academic
*My first attempt at any IELTS exam, studied for one month.

Scores:
Listening -7.5
Reading -8.5
Writing -7.5
Speaking -7.5

I would be ungrateful if i don't share my success story here.This thread was a source of strength and motivation for me.I usually come here to read up on exam tips, preparation styles and recommended materials to enable me give this exam my best effort.

Today, I can't thank God enough for his grace and favour.I am overjoyed and more than satisfied with my result because i exceeded the score i need for my masters application (a minimum of 7.0 in each test and an overall score of 7.0).

Study Materials used are as follows:

Cambridge IELTS academic authentic practice tests (Volume 16-18).

British council Gel IELTS premium website (for strategies and practice tests on all sections.This was provided for free by BC after i registered.

Band 8.0 strategy books on Reading, listening, speaking and writing by"Rachel Mitchell". (Try get all 4 books and study with it).

IeltsLiz website and videos on all test sections.

Ielts buddy textbooks on writing task 1 & 2

Screenshot the mail and look for any hotel nearby and ask for printing/photocopying service.

Hi,

I think you should rewrite instead of requesting a remark.

The chances of 1.5 points being added to the 5.5 points you have now are really really low.

Just practice more before taking the next exam.

You can watch demo videos on youtube for IELTS speaking and compare your last performance to the videos you have watched, which will enable you to locate your weaknesses.

I saw my computer-based result 7 days ago, and I called British Council today about the paper copy TRF, which I thought would be sent, but I was told that for computer-based, it is an e-Copy we have, which is on the results page, that no paper copy.

Please, can anyone verify that?

I'll also like an answer to that question. I wrote my test last month and was told when I called them to enquire about the hardcopy that the e-copy is very much valid for any application
