Bring in the sporting director. Make a lot of changes in recruitment and all.
Ten Hag should have a limited say in transfers. Just like he did in Ajax.

All he should be concerned about is coaching.

Far better than bringing in a bum that'll whine everyone for the next 2 years.

I have not forgotten. However at the point when United started offering gazillion dollars for him anybody who had detailed knowledge about Antony (like, for instance his former manager) should have said no to the deal at that price. It took me a few weeks to recognize that we had paid more than double the fee Antony should command at his best possible potential level.

My stand on this is clear. The recruitment team and Murtough are partly to blame but ETH also shoulders a large chunk of the blame. I would rather waste all that money on a new presidential yacht and fresh olosho than spend it on Antony.

Then the Mount deal is a supreme piece of intellectual negligence.

If you combine both fukups, the only way it is not sackable is if the team is playing very well in spite of.

Possibly. I am not going to die on that hill. I will say most of the blame is on him but it is rarely 100% one person’s fault. There are several other people being paid big bucks to do a job in that organisation.

Putting the blame 100% on one person without looking at the whole picture is why we keep regressing while sacking manager after manager. Nobody in that whole place could look ETH in the face and say, “excuse me sir but it is like your head is hitting the ground if you think this guy will be our new right wing star”, or look at Murtough and say “excuse me sir but it is like they are cooking on your head if you think this salsa dancer is worth 80m pounds”.

Heck Murtough and ETH should have been able to tell each other that.

When one factors how crap Antony has been there is no way one can completely absolve ETH of blame.

Why did they throw their heads down?

Because that's what they do! Like what changed drastically during's Ole's first half season that made them suddenly become clueless immediately it became apparently Ole was getting the permanent job. The went on a long winning run before and went on a losing run after. Then in his final year, man was literally begging them.

It was worse under Rangnick. They named that one Ted lassso. Man saw the situation and probably realized there needs to be a total reset of the squad and club culture.

Is it be because we're the biggest club in the world in terms of attention and that breeds a type of premadona quality in these players? Not sure.


All I know is every manager we hire fights for supremacy from day one.

I warned about this when he got the job because i know that this issue is beyond coaching. That is why his Ajax teams can play such lovely football and we are playing like a pub team. That is why good ebening struggled to play consistently exciting football at Assanal but his Villa side are a must watch.

The thing though is that i don't pity ETH. He accepted the control, and he has to face the repercussions of that. If the football does not improve significantly by the end of the season then he should be kicked out for another person to try. That person can then be supported with a quality DoF and more funds. If the football gets worse he (ETH) won't see the new year at the club.

He is making a lot of errors and many of them are unforced. I am not too surprised by Casemiro's decline sha. If we factor in potential Brazilian football age and the mileage on his legs, it should not be a huge surprise.

It's not like you have the squad depth to bench them. It's not like you can sell them. We couldn't even sell Mctominay or Maguire.

All you can do is keep instructing and probably set an example with some of them.

Once the owners can back a manager in between all these bad results and hold on till the next two transfer windows when we're about to recruit and get rid of players with the help of a Sporting director, I'm 100% certain we'll totally get rid of all that nonsense.

We have been playing terribly since the league cup victory against Newcastle in February. That's more than 7 months of inconsistent performance.
