Pls, I will be having my interview soon, Help me check the financial part of my i20 below. I was thinking student funding should be equal to estimated average cost.

I would like to have a chat with you. Drop your mail

Good afternoon Forum,

If the US Consulate in Lagos or US Embassy in Abuja opens the portal for student visa appointments for late November 2023 and December 2023, please, spread the news and inform members of this forum as we will be grateful to book.

I don't know why I keep on checking with a new visa fee paid after my first refusal on July 31, 2023 and I got a new Form I-20 with a much bigger scholarship and with my personal funding, seems sufficient for my next interview.

But the problem now is that anything I check now, it keeps saying ''no appointments available now''
I heard that the US Consulate in Lagos usually open up dates for Students and so if any of member of this house see dates, open, letting other members looking for dates to book and letting others like me know will be great.

Thank you all
Bethy

IMO, I think this is good. Your funding is almost double the average cost. All the best.

Hi,
Pls do you have any tips on FSA-4 form. A university requested me to fill the form as part of admission requirements. The main point is that, I am looking for scholarship/tuition waiver.
BigIyanga:

More expensive does NOT mean better chances of getting a visa. You’re right, bigger deficit means wider odds of getting approved.

Somebody help me. I'm really worried and it's having a toll on my mental health. I was denied my visa August. Now, I want to apply to another school for masters. I have GRE and good GPA. What school can you recommend that have enough funding and assistantships for there masters. I have shortlisted only four. Northeastern University, Stevens Institute of Technology, George Washington university and University of Maine. Someone said those schools doesn't give and they are expensive compared to Northen Illinois University I was admitted to earlier.

Piking wey dey him mama shop say profit wan kill him because he no sabi profit and loss.
This sounds like self-imposed mental toll you put on yourself. Why dont you expand your options? If schools you would love to be admitted to, dont accept your application, find a lot of other schools… las las employers dont really care about ur school once you can do the job.

Download Pay4me Mobile app.

Prepare to pay at least 10% extra charge, but they're very reliable and fast.

Thanks,
But I don't know why others are seeing dates, why I am seeing ''no appointments available now'' both in Lagos and Abuja. I just checked after receiving your update. Even if I can see any of those dates, I know there will be hope of getting a date, but I am not seeing any of such, even after just reading your email, I logged and still ''no appointments available now''

See the screenshot attached here.
May be, any further help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey !

Why not stick to a particular center ? I will advice you to reclick book appointment and choose Abuja as your location , I think February 2024 is available and then you can be checking for nearer dates or request for emergency appointment after that . Stick to Abuja.

Good morning good people, please I need an honest clarification on this. ✨✨

I applied for associate degree program and I was admitted to an undecided program with some funding to acquire BSc.

Please on interview day, is it better to tell the VO that after the associate degree of 2 years, you coming back to naija to face ur caraar here or is it better to tell the VO that due to the funding from school you are going to complete it 4 years to acquire ur BSc before coming back here?

Secondly do I have to go to interview with my own bank statement of account presicely despite having all my sponsor's documents?

Please I need some good suggestion and advice its urgent thanks 🙏

Hey !
Don't be discouraged. You can get your F1 study visa via the associate degree ..nothing is impossible and i have personally seen someone age 30 who got her visa via Cabrillo Community College .

Nevertheless, you have work to do ..if you have a genuine sponsor then use the sponsor 's financial statement and mention the sponsor in your DS 160. Also let the VO realise that what you re going for is related to your present work OR BETTER tell the truth that you intend to transfer to normal Bsc. Round up all the positive advice of the experts here and go ahead and get your visa . Nothing is impossible.

Nothing is impossible.. you can become a Naija senator.. what are the odds?
Why spend your resources and time on associate degree when you can apply for a full BS degree?

It you’re rejected it would count against you. Asr degree has no advantage over BS for foreign students.. why going for the lowest hanging fruit?

You’re already sending messages that your funding is not solid; that your BS plan is not solid.

But have been admitted already with the offer to complete it 4years to acquire BSc. In my admission letter, my academic program is written undecided and I believe that's what my I 20 form is going to say too. So my question is, if the question should come up at the embassy, should I say that I'm going for BSc program instead associate degree or should I say I'm going for associate degree with the plan of completing it to acquire my BSc. What do you think about that?

Please guys more suggestion 🙏

Hey chairman !

Undecided means you are qualified for admission into a particular faculty but you do not know the department to choose or perhaps your host University will decide for you because they want to see which department your present qualification fits in. In that case if i were you and the VO asked you ; WHY WERE YOU PLACED ON UNDECIDED PROGRAM ?

ANSWER : I opted for undecided because the whole program in the faculty of Social sciences (For SAMPLE) in my Host-University suits my post Bsc educational plans , therefore I am good to go with any program given . You may or may not add this ; ( Aside that, my present qualifications according to my host University can only be placed under undecided program which is well aligned with my post study plan.... Cheers !

Does your 1-20 say associate or bs?
