AndSunGorilla: That's not what I implied. My point is that if Peseiro is to invite all these Fwds, at least invite your most in-form strikers! Umar Sadiq has no business in the team over Akor Adams or Gift Orban. Two extra midfielders should have been called up instead of all those overload of strikers. 1 Like |

quickberry: Celestine Iwuoha na Igbo boy from Imo state, he only adopted Babayaro as a show of respect for his Northern mentor who adopted him into his football academy along with his brother. The only top player of Northern extraction that was outstanding was Tijani, Garba Lawal was an OK player at best, he was a workhorse though. |

Left Back is well covered because Aina and Bassey can also play a role there. We have no need for Collins. That gives a well deserving Ogbu a slot in CB where we have issues. Our midfield is thin and needs performers like Alhassan and Nwakali. Both should have been picked ahead of a currently POOR Sadiq Umar, and an unconvincing Aribo, especially considering we are already stacked in the CF position, and Aribo strengths in the PAST lies more in front than midfield positions. A right thinking coach should be able to find a balance between MERIT and where there is NEED. Simple common sense decisions Modified And let me add, Adeleye should be on the list. Okoye should probably be given another chance after his Coppa Itallia big showing. Uzoho will bring more woes to us if we don't make a decision fast. You can't help the confidence of a keeper who is regularly being benched (oh and makes ELEMENTARY mistakes. oyibo man sef no go take that kind nonsense ). What message are you sending when you drop our only consistent keeper in Europe, for an Ojo that will not get a chance? quickberry: 1 Like |

Truidstar:Tall and menacing are now the prerequisites over merit and football ability? apparently you and Peseiro have dinosaur brains since you both are still stuck in the 80's and 90's...modern football has moved past that primitive concept of brawns over brains. 3 Likes |

Let me defend your take Alhassan for Umar Igoh Ogbu for Collins I would relax on Orban, because he just performed to his standard tonight Akor is definitely knocking the door, but it will be hard to knock off any of the other forwards yet. And let me add, Nwakali for Aribo Tobichimezie: |

Peseiro, why not wait until he picks up form first for club before national team invites. My goodness we have many CFs who are ALREADY IN FORM. “It (Umar’s injury) is one of the most complicated things for a player,” Alguacil told Oma Akatugba. “After such a serious injury and so much time out of competition, getting into the rhythm would be difficult. “When we signed him, he was in a great moment after having a great season in the second division. Now he is in a Real Sociedad that is fighting in the Champions League and wants to continue fighting to be in the competition next year. “He is important. I think Umar’s work has been good, and that is what will bring him closer to being able to compete at a higher level than what he demonstrated in Almeria and will be able to help us.” |

A player that score in league matches, europa or conference is he not better at that point in time football wise? It is glaring you're in full support of Pasiero list 1 Like |

All other departments have like for like replacements except the midfield. If one or more of the midfielders gets injured or suspended what happens? |

6/8 aerial duels won vs Lukaku and Belotti 100% ground duels won 8 recoveries 4 interested 1 tackle 1 chance created 10 final third pass entries 6/11 accurate long balls. Igoh Ogbu is that CB who is both an aggressor and also a technical ball playing kind. The lad is a best-of-both-worlds CB. The Eagles need his CB profile not just for defending positionally and spatially but for his buildup nous in the first phase of plays. But ofcos, it's too late now. We won't see him so soon until after the Afcon. Joebie: |

Have you ever met a lady who doesn't know how to cook?, Everything needed to make a good meal is available in the kitchen yet the food comes out tasteless. JP is a coach who doesn't know how to cook our players. He just does not know what to do. Aside been a stubborn coach he is also clueless. With JP,I don't see Nigeria qualifying for the world cup. With JP, I see Nigeria exiting the Afcon during the Quarter Finals. JP won't even see out the World Cup Qualifiers, bookmark this. The present NFF administration is the worst in the history of Nigerian football. They have sown failure and they will surely reap failure. 2 Likes |

Daninya33: Its so frustrating that we have a generation of top quality players but don't know how to administer and use them to maximum potentiality. Sadiq Umar, Joe Aribo, Francis Uzoho, Maduka Okoye all have no business on that list. If we qualify for this World Cup ehhhhh.... e mean say God love Nigeria 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd:And we will be going to AFCOn with CB's that has the propensity of switching off in the first 15mins of a match and starts ball-watching in the last 20-30 mins. We are on a long ride. I don't think that there is another better time to blood in Ogbu than now. Are these not our CB's. 1) Ekong 2) Omeruo 3) Jordan 4) Akpos 5) Bassey 6) Awaziem 7) Ajayi. Maybe u can help us run their profile so that we can see where we are. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 8:56am On Nov 10, 2023 |
Tobichimezie:Amokachi. Benue. North Central. Although I prefer Middle Belt but that's not the geopolitically recognized name. The fact though is that the South has produced more outstanding footballers than the North but let's not turn this into a North/South Debacle. There are many other positive aspects of our national life in which one region holds aces above other regions. 1 Like 1 Share |
