Which Nsukka? Make UNN close for holiday and go back to confirm.

Op is right ....
You are right my bro. Places that depend on one institution for survival Such places are known as semi urban area. e.g auchi, nsuka, abraka etc.

You are still living in the past. The most built up part of Nsukka is towards ogurugu road not even anywhere around UNN

I know Zaria in and out.

I also know Aba in and out. But in terms of road quality. There is no debate. Zaria is a clear winner.

Zaria to Kaduna

Zaria to Funtua

Zaria to Kano

... are kind of roads Aba will only dream of.

Also, Zaria inner road is the same.

Name one place in Zaria with roads worst than Port Harcourt road, Uratta road, and Omuma road in Aba. The city is just enjoying breath of fresh air due to Otti.
Zaria doesn't have well arrange interconnecting tarred streets like Aba

OTA can't replace any in the the top 5.

Maybe it deserves a place in the worthy mention, but it can't still displace anyone.

The worthy mentions are cities, towns, or villages with something Unique

Nnewi (worthy mention with the highest commercial activity)

Ikot Ekpene (Quality of roads)

Bonny (it's an Island with high scale industrial activities)

Agbara (the most industrialised)

Abiriba (most beautiful village)

So, where does Ota come in?
Your so called worthy of mention should be holistic. Beautiful village or industrial area are not full fledge cities. They should have things like, big markets, a reasonable number of bank branches, stadium, GRA, estates, higher institutions and tertiary hospital, cosmopolitan population, government and church establishments, inner Streets, radio stations, many good hotels, road transport company terminals. Uncountable number of secondary schools. Only Nsukka and Nnewi are qualified for these things

Nsukka is a full fledged city independent of UNN. Don't put it in same category with those small towns

Sorry, you are so ignorant of Nsukka town undecided

Nsukka town that has about 4 boisterous markets, an industrial layout with industries, a vibrant mechanic village, one of the largest building material markets in the east after the new one in Enugu, and a whole lots of other economic activities is what you are looking down at? undecided

I for one can tell you that, they are so many people working at various places in Nsukka that cares less about UNN, so many that have never stepped foot in the school...

UNN or no UNN, Nsukka is one of the largest towns in Nigeria.

Well you are right in a sense, aba lack both federal and state government presence, ottih is doing a good job though, Zaria to kaduna and kano is close eye and drive

Zaria is neither industrialized nor commercial. Good federal expressway is not a yardstick to rate a City. Zaria lack tarred inner streets

FACT
u no sabi anything

Agbara is less developed compared to some places in d south west

State capitals receive most of the attention in Nigeria.

But some non-capital cities are also holding their ground strongly, giving most of these capitals a run for their money. Come along as I unveil the top 5 most developed non-capital cities in Nigeria. Vetting criteria is based on:

- Quality of residential housing

- Access to world-class pre-tertiary schools

- Large scale commercial activities

- Good roads.

Going by your criteria, my number 1 to 10 are;

1. Eko (Lagos Island, Ikoyi, V/I, Banana Island, Apapa, Surulere, Yaba, Eko Atlantic etc) is arguably the most developed non capital city of all.

2. Lekki. Many confuse Lekki to be part of Eko but it is a different city entirely. It's arguably the second most developed non capital city in Nigeria.

3 Warri comes 3rd. It's the defacto capital of Delta state. It is a city on its own. World class housing estates, large scale commercial activities (I think this has reduced due to kidnapping), airport, port, world class hotels, etc

4. Ikorodu. My friend, this is a city on its own. It ticks all the criteria on your list. Quality residential housing, large scale commercial activities, pre-tertiary and tertiary schools, port, sport facilities etc.

To be continued....
